Yep, you're right about operating with The Pusher down when Wendy I pull a 53-ft Eby and almost always have that Pusher out down. Makes a lot of difference when it's windy. I found your channel about a year ago. Love watching. Seems like you're a great guy 🤘

Well done Jax. I remain impressed with your professionalism. Having driven double 45's up in the Northeast I know the pitfalls that are out there and you work HARD to avoid them all. I unfortunately know the stress of which you speak. My scariest moments? Driving my Sprinter van across Wyoming last year with crosswinds blowing me HARD. I so appreciate these videos. Keep e'm coming please! Thank you!

I live 40mi north of the sweet grass hills in Alberta and we get those crazy winds from the west and know how they can change in a short distance. I also pull grain hopper with lift axle and run them down in the wind. Definitely helps. Not the weight per square inch on the ground but more side friction. Love your videos

your water deal if you put in tarps down and zip tie them to the walls it’ll hold a lot more water when we hauled cattle from North Dakota to Nebraska. Sometimes we needed that weight on an empty haul back so we can do the water deal and we put tarps down

That intro was very cool, but the drivin in the wind took that right out of my head - was clench'n right along with your gut wrench! 😓 Great job! Doing the prep is a smart man's move. 😁 The term you were looking for was " Canary in a coal mine" . Good idea to use that fool as your gauge! Also, the words / logo on my Jax tshirt has FINALLLY worn completely off; Time to order my replacement, and put those kids to work doing the packing/ shipping! (Hi kids! Grandma needs her new shirt soon!) This one is lookin like a frosting of white snow lightly dusted it, thats all thats left of the Logo! 😢 These are the SOFTEST tshirts EVERRR. 💕 Good video- thanks for taking us along! Hugs!

A couple of years back I was traveling back to Las Vegas from Los Angeles. At the bottom of the Cajon grade was three trucks which had blown over. Some really serious winds are frequent in that area. It was quite sad to see.

First time seeing one of your videos. I take the wind seriously as well since I have been tipped over before. It is nothing to joke about. I have a PTSD moment going around corners now as well any time I feel the weight shift. It's been several years and still get that oh shit feeling. I'm just steady as she goes now and other than the water I deploy most your tricks too. If I know I am going to have to go through an area of potential wind I try to plan a stop and just wait it out if it seems like it will be crazy or try and plan to get through before. I know it's not always how it can work out though. But you are certainly right to take precautions. Those who don't are only lucky till they're not anymore. I also try and use the guys who blow by as gauges too. Mostly to brace if I see them moving, but the crappy thing about gusts are is there is no way to time them as they can be perfectly fine and then you catch the gust yourself. Just all part of the game I guess. Great video

Even running flat, rgn,covered wagon the big winds pushed around when empty. Racing cars going to accidents with wreckers i learned to always wear seatbelts…. Except in the truck. If you have pulled up to enough truck wrecks guys survive with no belts… most end up on floor an it saves them. Stay safe… good videos

Hauling livestock isn’t for the faint of heart. The Stories are enough to keep the Mavericks on the road and me way far away! My days at IHC truck shop during the 9370 & 9670 COE; S-Line through 4000-5000 series. I had the pleasure of meeting some interesting old timers still on the Road.
@leelahd44282 күн бұрын
A cattle driver told me on a 4 lane, they would drive side by side for one, to block the wind and two, if the trailer moved they would use the other to use as a ‘bumper’. Keep the wind side trailer from going over. I drove in one real bad side wind and I’m sure the trailer tires lifted. I pulled into a farmers yard to wait it out.
@realwildwildwest2 күн бұрын
If you have a running mate, going side by side is a great way to wind proof yourself. Essentially cuts the wind force in half!

This is a great video. I haven't been with you long but I like the channel. The trucking friends I know only pull hazmat and grain. So this cattle business is interesting to me. Did not realize you bull haulers put water in your trailers for added weight. But you left me hanging - does it freeze or do you drain it when you go to pick up your load? Never owned cows but plenty of horses. Inquiring minds want to know...........Stay safe out there the family's counting on you. ❤❤good vid we need the 2nd part.

Canary was the bird in the mines. Opening your cut gates cross gates I understand I would lay the floor down in the kitchen also I don’t know if those big trailers can do that. Anything to get the airflow. None of that matters when you have 75-100 mph wind gusts.
