Great recap. I find this kind of thing so interesting. I think the friction in the comments comes from the massive communication gap between the weather minded vs average folks. A lot of people in the wx community (not you guys, specifically, but the SPC and most mets in general) need to remember, they're trying to explain very high concept science to people who still don't understand the difference between a watch and a warning. I think a huge part of what makes Ryan Hall as popular as he is (and I have a love/hate relationship with that guy) is he's figured out how to make the science of weather understandable to the average person.
