You saved me so many headaches with this video and your inspection list! Thank you so much! I printed and took your list to inspect our new bumper pull camper, and found many things wrong that they fixed with my supervision. Some included the couch/hideabed only being anchored on one side, shower silicone not attached to wall and up to a 3/8" gap under the shower curtain track so it would have flooded the bathroom the first time we used it, the front stabilizer jack switch was broken, and so much more! Thank you! Thank you! I found all of this after the walk through with the tech. I can't thank you enough

New RV owner should be made aware of these so called ultralights and others, That have Styrofoam floors. If it doesn't have at least a 1/2 inch plywood on top of the Styrofoam floor are almost guaranteed to have delamination Leading to failure. Please people do your homework Styrofoam floors and ceilings and roofs is just wrong.
@volvo092 жыл бұрын
Yup, you can't live or stay long term in an ultra lite (foam floor will delaminate and go soft and sink like it's rotted) and they certainly are not built to be used oftem. They're the lowest durability trailer. Then there is Winnebago and their foam laminate roofs that will collapse if manufactured wrong or delaminate, so check that out... Roof should not be soft and creaky, or flat and collecting water where the heavy ac is.

Good list. Bought our 4th trailer 2 years ago. Microwave didn’t work. Oven didn’t work. Smoke detector didn’t work. Back jacks didn’t work. We just assumed it all worked as we bought our used unit from dealership. Now we know! Ty. Good video.

@@sqqqrly good point. Obviously we’re hooked up to a sewer in this video. When we are doing inspections on RVs that are not hooked up to sewer, we hook it up to a portable sewer wagon before we pull the handles.

@@MobileRVTechServices We actually just started looking to replace our existing trailer (that we had purchased from my aunt several years back) and I've actually been banging my head against a wall because I couldn't find ANY list talking about what to look for when looking at used RV 's... Well it was because I was searching for "walkthrough" instead of "inspection". I finally found one video and saw he also had inspection in the title so I changed my search to inspection and Boom got a larger result. So that could be why! Folks may just not know what key words to use.... I'm not sure if KZbin allows you to add keywords or anything but just food for thought you might try adding some more key words! Loved your video, by far the best one I've watched on this subject 🥰

Can you self inspect RV before buying?
@MobileRVTechServices Жыл бұрын
You just tell the person/dealership that you are inspecting it before you purchase it. If they say no, RUN!
@Jurornumber59 ай бұрын
So what's the point? Say the RV's engine and transmission are perfect, but you found a rip in the awning, are you going to pass on the RV? This "RV inspector" falls into the NON-ESSENTIAL category of employment.
@MobileRVTechServices9 ай бұрын
I’ll try to break down the point since you didn’t pick it up in the video. If you go through and inspect the RV before buying it, you’ll have peace of mind that everything works or you’ll have the price reduced to reflect the actual condition of the RV. Sometimes the issues found are repaired before taking ownership and other times the buyer chooses to walk if they find major issues. You may not find an inspector or inspecting an RV “essential” however there are many RV owners that value having an RV in great condition that they can enjoy vs owning an RV that’s sitting in the shop for repairs because they find out shortly after the purchase that it’s broken.
