Hi Jason, thanks for all the useful information. I used to ride the SB130 and I used to love that bike, except for when I was not so aggressive and I feel it was very hard to control. Is this SB140 LR improved this part? I’m riding a Stumpjumper now, I’m happy but miss my SB130 mainly in the climbs. Thank you

I grew up on the east side of Oklahoma City, Riding BMX bikes. We didnt really have any bike trails that I knew about until I was older, By the time I was in my mid 20's I was a Police Officer in OKC, I took out Police Mountain Bike School and actually learned so much at a bike school. I loved it, went on to become an instructor myself. We have a few places around OKC to ride trails etc. and I ended up working in one of our bike units until retired in 2021. I truly enjoyed watching this video with you riding with your kids. I took my daughters to several of the places around OKC to ride trials, With no mountains, we didnt have anything like this to ride, but I am truly impressed with how well both of your children are doing, I know you must be proud, I can Hear it in your voice and feel it watching the videos. thanks for taking the time to share this with us and know you have a new sub. How fun is this. I miss riding with my girls, they have grown up and moved on,. Right now I am in east Texas, I am currently bike less and looking for another bike. My last one was a specialized stump jumper and looking for what the "new" bike may be and or go with another specialized bike, Is how I got here. I appreciate you doing what you are doing. Thank you and I hope you all have a blessed week. Dale

A shout out to MTByumyum and Salt cycles. I was in SLC last week (from New England) and had a half day to ride. Booked a bike at Salt Cycles (Pivot Trail 429) with plans to ride the Flying Dog Loop in Park City but ran short on time so I pulled Corner Canyon from MTBYumYum’s videos and asked the shop for suggestions. The bike was set up perfect, transaction was super smooth, and trail suggestions were great. It was my first time renting a bike anywhere but it couldn’t have been better (days later I rented for myself and my kids in Bend, OR and while I had an OK rental experience, it was definitely a bit less smooth). Thanks to both Salt Cycles and MTBYumYum for helping me explore UT for an afternoon and for your great content.

Depending on your terrain, lighter faster rolling tires can really lighten up and speed up the bike. Lighter carbon wheels will help. Carbon bar and stem. Carbon cranks are the next biggest contributor to weight. I'm now currently running the new v3 Oneup dropper post as it's lighter weight than others on the market.

The transition from Switchblade to SB140 LR is an easy one... they're similar in a lot of ways. Tons of support out back, both ride high in their travel and are incredibly efficient for mid travel 29er trail bikes. The geo on the Yeti is slightly more aggressive and sort of takes the sting out of any would be harsh section of trail... you can also charge a little harder on the Yeti without getting any harsh feeling out back. I'm not sure if it was my lighter weight (145 lbs) or what but sometimes, really charging hard on the Switchblade, I would get this dull harsh feeling out back on that bike. I never NEVER get that on the SB140 LR. Both bikes are very balanced and have what I would describe as a "neutral" riding position. As with the Ibis Ripmo, when ridden back to back with the SB140 LR.... I left feeling like the SB140 LR was the clear choice... I can easily recommend the SB140 LR to anyone currently riding a Switchblade or Ripmo... it's well worth the upgrade!!

One bike to have fun in enduro trails but also allowing me to make 30-40 km routes with 800-1000 meters of slope usually. Will the sb140 LR be a better choice in stead of a stump jumper evo? It really just comes down to speed and riding style.... for Corner Canyon, the new Scalpel is excellent on everything but Jacobs, DDH and Levitate at the speeds I ride... for slower speeds and very little jumping, Scalpel is an excellent one bike quiver for these trails. How do you like it? I watched these videos too and ended up choosing this over the Hightower. Ordered up a T2 build on sale. @JT-MTB
@JT-MTB 4 ай бұрын
@@Cortezuma I actually ended up sending it back. I never rode it to know how it actually rides. Main reason I sent it back was because Revel was running ridiculous deals on their Rail29 over Black Friday so I bought one of those for $2500 less and got carbon wheels with it. So far I really like the Rail. It is a little heavy pedaling up, but it still gets through climbs and tech easily. I just have to be in an easier gear than I typically would be. It plows in the downs and is so fast. I’d guess the yeti is probably more efficient on the ups and is as good on the downs.

@@JT-MTB Thanks for getting back to me on it. It’s funny between commenting and now I actually canceled the order and picked up a Santa Cruz Hightower C S. In my experience, the SB140 is very different from the SB130.... the 140 is more approachable and easy going..... the 130 is a demanding bike to ride and requires more of the rider to get it to respond in a way the 140 will easily and naturally respond with less rider input...

@@mtbyumyum I actually owned the 130LR and for me personally I never found it to be that demanding ..That being said..I'm on the Allied bc40 now and woww! What a difference.. Handles most of what the 130 did but is much more nimble and climbs so much snappier..That being said it is also a far lighter bike with the a 130mm 34 .. I'm just mentioning the 130 as I've seen some pretty sweet used deals on pinkbike for those more value minded
