Trust me its very easy. My Airpods broke a while after applying the first skin so i had to take it off for the repair and then i used the second skin once i got them back when they were repaired. both times i did it just fine and it looked great. It definitely takes a lot of time and patience but definitely worth it since you don't have the bulkiness of a case and dbrands quality.

Gotta say, I put my dbrand skin on my AirPods (not pro) case on nearly perfectly. Use hairdryer or heat gun (or in my case also a little metal stick heated with a lighter for the corner seams. It takes time but personally it’s fun and rewarding and looks great. Maybe it’s me, I enjoy meticulous projects but I’ve installed 3 and I love it.

This isn't for just dbrand- all skins are really fucking hard to put on. I tried one on a pro controller (no dbrand)- wasted $15 and wasted $15 on a dbrand joycon skin and applied it horribly and ended up removing it in 2 months

I wouldn't say completely avoid DBrand, their skins are easy to apply for flat items like a console or a laptop. One time when they forgot part of my order they shipped a replacement quickly. But yes, the Airpods pro skin was annoying. I couldn't get mine to work either. I haven't tried their hairdryer method though.
