Thank you friend! I don't post too often as I want to take my time with these videos. Probably puts me at a disadvantage for the algorithm but I'm hoping to be able to deliver more value that way 🙌

I agree, very great presentation with a lot of examples, instead of showing "your face". I like the ending too: You decide!

This is seriously great content! How is autofocus whilst using them?
@MarcelGlas4 ай бұрын
Thanks man! Autofocus still works after screwing on the filters. I would use it to quickly grab focus and then switch over to manual focus though.

I just got this 2 days ago, I am crazy impressed. I used Raynox DCR250 and NiSi beats its way over. Do you know how to calculate the "new" minimum focus distance when using this filter?
@MarcelGlas3 ай бұрын
Agreed! Unfortunately I don't know how you'd calculate it accurately but I'd be curious to know how much of a difference a proper telephoto lens would make to the magnification ratio 🤔

Amazing my friend! How about I use Nisi with Sigma 28-70mm. Could I have a close shot with that lens?
@MarcelGlas2 ай бұрын
You could just use the 67mm Step-up ring included with the NiSi Close-up lens and screw it on the 28-70mm without any problems. It isn't recommended to use the Close-up lens with any focal length below 70mm but to this day I most often use it with my Sony 20-70mm zoomed in to 70mm and it works perfectly.

A great video. I just subscribed. I’m wondering if what you outline will help me. I have tons of 35mm slides and negatives I wish to copy. I’m trying to avoid the cost of a macro lens, so perhaps a solution can be found here. My cameras are Olympus micro 4/3. My sharpest lens is my Olympus 45mm f/1.8. What would you suggest please?
@MarcelGlas20 күн бұрын
Hey there. The Close-Up lens will only work with lenses upwards of 70mm so I wouldn't recommend the 45mm for your purposes.

my question is do you prefer your Sony 20-70 or tampon 20-40 wich one you use most for vidéo project ? thanks btw I love your jobs
@MarcelGlas3 ай бұрын
Thanks Clement! I do prefer the Sony 20-70 by a lot. The Tamron is a great lens with a nice and compact size but the Sony wins in terms of versatility, image quality, bokeh, zoom range and build quality. Definitely the most useful lens I own.

Can you also stack these on a macro lens to get an even greater close up?
@MarcelGlas6 ай бұрын
I didn't try this but I'd assume it would reduce the minimum focusing distance even further.

Thank you. This just saved me 500$ if not more. As a sony shooter myself does it work with Autofocus and image stabilization? What is the magnification equivalent. A macro lense is usually 1x or 2x.
@MarcelGlas3 ай бұрын
You're welcome! It does work with AF. When I use it I do so on a tripod so I can't speak about the stabilization aspect but I've read about people using it handheld. The magnification ratio depends on the focal length you're using. With a 70-200 you can get to a 1:1 ratio.

Manufacturer says at 200mm it's 1:1

You prefer this to extension tubes?
@MarcelGlas6 ай бұрын
I do! Tried extension tubes a couple of times but the optical results weren't as nice as I expected and you always run the risk of getting the sensor dirty.
