The new satoru is easily the best card from the set in the 99 and im surprised not many people seem to realize it. Ninjas, reanimation, free morph/manifest cards, blink, cheerios, flip sagas, cascade, etc etc all give you cards with new satoru. New Jodah, kadena, yuriko, mirko, esika, captain n’dgathrod, neon satoru, grixis marchesa, new admiral brass, don andress, aminatou, and many more commanders trigger off of satoru. The card advantage he gives you essentially lets you churn through your deck and never be low on cards in hand.

Two of Profs recommendations involve "hey this is great for extra turn effects" By and large the fewer extra turn effects I see the happier I am Gitrog looks fantastic. Magebane Lizard has a huge booty. Outcast Trailblazer is awesome for blink decks. Oltec Mattwrweaver is nuts for artifact decks.

The Oltec Matterweaver is much less impressive than you think, though, since it doesn't trigger off of the best cards in artifact decks: noncreature spells. There is a reason why Sai and Digsite Engineer are strong.

Funnily enough with both cards the very fastest you can do that is turn 4 with kellan. With jace it's turn 5 since you need to wait a turn for plot.

Spree does excite me as well. Will say, I think Insatiable Avarice goes way harder than is given credit in this video. 3 mana draw three that if I have 2 extra mana for I can also cram a tutor in there if I really need it.

Final Showdown is my number 1 pick. It's basically white cyclonic rift. It's cheaper than Rout and more destructive than Settle the Wreckage, and instant speed gives it an edge over other board wipes, and the other two options being actually useful on their own makes this card nuts imo, but especially for voltron strats, or decks where the commander is very important. Can tutor it with Sunforger!

Kambal is very good with Alliance of Arms and the hunted creatures. Also works well with the blink effects you'd be likely running to blink your token makers for that second ability. I think he's less milquetoast as a commander than he appears at first glance.

13:01 just a heads up, you can only *plot* as a sorcery, so if you plot an opponent’s counterspell then they can still cast it at instant speed. However, they will only be able to cast it on a *later* turn, so it will still delay the counter for at least one turn.

The way prof is describing Kambal, it sounds like he would make a decent commander. Your opponent isn't always gonna have a way to give you a measly 1/1 token before casting their dockside extortionist. They have to either abstain from casting it, or bite the bullet and give you all those treasures for your next turn.

Marchesa, dealer of death seems pretty busted. Anytime you commit a crime look at the top two cards of your library and put on into your hand and the other into your gy. Could get pretty nasty with her especially late game when mana is abundant.

Ooh, I think Key to the Vault might fit in my Obyra faeries deck! The whole deck is basically "draw stuff + cast cheap faeries + clone them all" all of which fit pretty well with it. Literally every single creature in the deck has flying except one (Roaming Throne), so I can usually connect every combat.

Archmage's newt is gonna be really good in my The Master, Transcendant deck; - It cares about self-mill - It has a lower base p/t than 3/3 so it'll get buffed if pulled out - It has a low cmc - It can be mounted by any creature cheated out by The Master since he turns them into 3/3s

Kamiz, Obscura Oculus is a perfect saboteur commander who is so underrated in my opinion, but every blue card you showed off is perfect for her! she gives creatures unblockable and double strike, making blue combat damage triggers so, so good

If Spree works like kicker, the red/white instant one are also fetchable and spreeable with Sunforger which is pretty huge. If it works like that, it'd also be pretty good for my Ryan Sinclair deck, always triggering the lower power mode, while then also being able to add mana to get some cooler thing (the extra combat one esp would be amazing)

My favorite new card is Tinybones Joins up, the ammount of value you get from a 1 mana enchantment is insane. Also really like the Vraska and Gitrog, golgari got some serious love this set.

I disagree with black spree being bad. Insatiable Avarice is an upgraded Cruel Tutor or a monocolored Painful Truths or Demonic Tutor that costs 3 more for draw 2. Lively Dirge is even better as you can never have enough Entomb effects in decks that care about Entomb, and for other decks you can spend 5 to tutor into play any 4 cost or lower in your deck. Or, if the 4 cost you want is already dead you can merely spend 4 to return it.

The thing that bothers me about those spree instants is that if you spend the mana to cast all these really good to potentially busted effects at once and then it gets countered, not only do you get countered but now you're out of X mana until your next turn. That's one singular 7-9 mana cost card getting countered. I don't like the thought of that happening at all. They look like they'll only work flawlessly in very treasure heavy decks or other decks with abnormally large mana ramp.

The new Satoru, the Infiltrator card would be a nice 99 card because its effect works well with ninjustu cards since you're not casting a spell with the ability and it'll give you a lot of card draws.

Return the Favor is an insanely good protection spell for red. At worst, you bolt bend their removal and fork it. At best, you can interact with a powerful activated/triggered ability. At my pre-release tonight, I redirected a Terror of the Peaks trigger for lethal!

All of the people who are new to Whatnot just be aware of degenerate casino gambling tactics and schemes and people trying to hijack the reward center in your brain. 99% of Whatnot tcg streams are straight-up gambling (usually with horrible odds). If you have a problem with gambling or if spending money is an issue, I'd be cautious.

Forsaken Miner is my pick for best 99 card of the set. Its a new gravecrawler. Better in some ways; goes off at instant speed and doesn't require tribal synergies but is a relevant type in Rogue. There a good number of sacrifice outlets for Forsaken Miner that target which starts a loop on their own, and there are a ton of 3-4 card combinations (of cards that are just generically good anyways) that just win on the spot. We even got a decent tutor/enabler for those decks in Lively Dirge; entomb your Forsaken Miner and reanimate your combo pieces for 5 mana? Yes please.

The Spree cards sound really interesting! I have a few other cards i think i will try in my commander decks. "Bandit's Haul" looks like it is a mana rock worth testing. A Mana rock with repeatable carddraw sounds nice. "Double Down" for my etrata deadly fugitive assasin deck, and i want to test "Bonny Pall" in my landfall deck, i dont think he will be better then aesi but maybee in the 99.

looks like Black only got a single spree card at instant speed (Unfortunate Accident) which definitely doesn't match the power of the other spree cards listed here. Lively Dirge and Rush of Dread are both a little too expensive for what they do. However, I do like Insatiable Avarice and I've got a few decks where it might find a home. Also, I had Aven Interrupter pretty high up my wish list already but had not even considered the secret bonus tech of screeching/cawing/hooting at the rest of my pod. So that's going to bump it up a bit.
