I bought Heer Officer collar tabs from Epic Militaria, they looked very "plastic" and bad, and then I bought some from Nestof that I was VERY happy with, really looked like quality production! They were nearly impossible to sew, so I ended up gluing them...

Thanks for the video! I really haven't seen much comparison between diffrent shoulderboards. I have Nestof ones myself for now and the wool is really weird it's very dark for some reason. But when they get dirty they don't look as bad.

I have my great grandpa's shoulder boards, their waffenfarbe edges are actually not sewn in like you say is right. :)

New info to me! I already new it was a clusterfuck when in comes to the producers of the uniforms, so some variation might come from that.

Very nice video! i never considered shoulder boards to be so different in quality! You should make a video like this about BUTTONS! i always hear people complain about uniform button quality while reviewing a feldbluse. With my own limited knowledge i only know to make sure they're not the painted brass kind.

Best boards I've ever bought were from LWY Werke. He has original cutting dies and his are almost indistingishable from originals.

i Always buy Schiffchen / Feldmützen, Kragenspiegel / Litzen and Schulterstücke from GD43, high prices, but really good quality.

Those are not great. Schusters on the same level. Gavins are usable (construction is right). Elsenau is amazing but expensive

@@dergrenadier I am doubting between a Gavin M40 wool tunic and a Hessen M40 wool tunic as well. Which one would you recommend for their quality and details? Do you think Hessen tunics are worth their price? I understood Gavin tunics are very good for their price and very detailed but whay about Hessen tunics?

Sure. Why not. You see them late war too but with the soutache removed. As long as youre one of the few in your group who wears them late war you are fine

If I am correct they both sell gavin militaria. I know for sure that the "richard underwood" items on soldier of fortunes website is gavin. So if you want to be safe, order that.

Usable. Their wool was quite good. I like them best tailored in almost every dimension and aspect. Some runs were really bad though so check them before buyinh

@@dergrenadier Wow, youre experience with them shocked me a bit because lot of reenactors say it is total garbage sturm miltec, I myself have Erbsentarn or dot44 ss uniform and colors are awful and there are strings hanging from it. People don't like it very much. But ok when you say its good then I will buy it maybe
