I bought a 2020 CD 30 in June. My last two vehicles were a BMW 328is and an Audi A4 sport..both great cars and no regrets.This Mazda actually makes me feel bad whenever I reach home and have to park it. I simply cannot find one thing I dislike about it. It really punches way above its weight class in ride,comfort and responsive engine performance. I have previously owned 4 Mazda vehicles so I can't say I am surprised.What I can say is that in my experience ,Mazda is easily the most underrated vehicle mfg.on the planet. The interior of this crossover is so high end,quiet,comfortable and the controls so intuitive it blows me away. I know I am echoing some points this reviewer makes but as a person who owns and drives one every day I can tell you he is spot on. My dog even loves it! I would strongly urge anyone who is considering this vehicle to give it a really good look(and test drive). I can assure you that you will quickly get over the plastic cladding the more you drive this Mazda. Finally,if you are looking at BMW,Audi,Volvo,Lexus......give this or CX 5 a look...it will save you money and you will become a Mazda believer. If they start making 6 speed turbo an option it will be game over for this vehicle segment!!!!

Good review! I purchased a 2020 CX30 Premium and I like your comment about the fact that this car does not have the ‘douchebagery’ attitude of the luxury brands🤣 That’s one of the reasons I bought it. I traded in my ‘19 Civic Si coupe because my 53 year old bad back couldn’t deal with the painful seats.

Great review. Picked up mine yesterday and love it and feel like I won big time for the price I paid. Sign a of an awsome interior is a car you don't want to get out of. My mom let me borrow her 2018 Mercedes GLA. Of course it has the look and feels of a nice Benz and I enjoy this car as much if not more. My parents own a 2020 Mazda CX-9 which is interesting since they are in the luxury shopping category.

@@marzzgli1278 I think your wife will love it....I sure miss the turbo on the Mazda 6, but I love the smaller size of the CX-30, the AWD hugs nicely around corners, the seats are great (I don’t slide around in them-compared to the Mazda 6) and very contouring....the Hp isn’t fantastic, but it’s peppy enough for me in the mountains! It handles the snow fantastically! Very very comfortable vehicle!!! I went down a trim level in the CX-30 (Select trim) and I won’t lie-I miss my Bose, heated seats and sunroof!!! I really wanted to save a bit of money and really needed the AWD so for me it was worth it to go down a trim level and gain the AWD for around the same price point as my turbo Mazda 6! The engine handles the AWD beautifully in my opinion! Please let me know what your wife thinks!! I think she’ll really enjoy it!!!! 💞 PS: I leased mine too!! Decent money factor and okay residual! It works for me.

I’m a petite woman....I love both, but this one is just better for me.....I almost got the MX5..... but this one is so much better in the mountains where I live now. The AWD is a better upgrade to me than the turbo Mazda 6 GT.....it’s fantastic up here in the mountains! Overall it’s the vehicle of choice with mountain living than the Mazda 6 I had.

I already bought a 2021 Mazda CX 30 awd premium and it will be my 4th mazda vehicle for many years. I have worked over 15 years in the automotive industry on the reliability testing and Japanese vehicles always lead the dependable and stay longer time for the reliability tests. I am very happy with my purchase and this is just my opinion. I never had an issue with a Mazda vehicle other than regular maintenance and some recalls but no major problems.

Not sure if you saw the Mazda RWD sports sedan concept but I think that car will be coming to life in a few years with a straight 6 engine, not sure if they will ever bring back rotary. Nice! I would rock with that plus a Z if they fix that hideous grill. The Mazda 6 in Japan is a Atenza and that wagon is a beast, brah!!!

That's very nice of you yea Mazda is just crushing it especially after 2018 when they made sure to really quiet their cars down. I'm excited for all that new Inline 6/RWD stuff to drop wonder if they will turn into like Genesis and start to go up against the luxury makes. Yea Mazda 6 wagon was sick I saw that. I like your review very much because of very objective and neutral comments on this car. I have 2014 2.5L Mada3 hatchback Soul Red color. I am investing Mazda3 Sedan and CX30 of 2021. Mazda3 sedan has a longer wheelbase than CX30. Thank you for your reviewing, Mazda now make a very high quality car. 40 year ago Mazda's cars in Japan quickly depreciated compared to other Toyoya, Nissan and Honda' cars. But they really make very quality cars.

No one ever mentions the fact that the belt line is extremely high up and the windows are very small. Just look at the video the door window starts where his head is. It's impossible to comfortably rest your elbow/hand on the door with the window down. I love Mazda but that was the first thing I noticed when I sat inside a CX-30 and it's a shame because I really wanted to like it. The Mazda 3 doesn't have this issue.

I have the same problem. Going in and out of parking lots with ticket machines is freaking annoying. Everytime i put my arm out to grab a ticket and the window sill is hitting my upper arm that makes it uncomfortable as hell. Plus the blind spots on this thing is atrocious.

@@441meatloaf Yeah that's exactly what I mean. No one ever mentions how high the door actually goes. The other Mazda's don't seem to have this issue.

@@Argedis But the mazda 3 the newer ones have blind spot issues. The rear pillar is a lot more thicker and the rear window is a lot smaller. So essentially you are getting worse view angles. Mazda sacrificed driver focus for the design, and i think thats a very bad mistake. Koreans have good looking designs for the CUVs but they don't sacrifice the blind spots for it.

I get a low battery warning if I leave the door open for half an hour, loading it or cleaning the inside. Apparently that’s normal, the whole computer turns on if the rear hatch is open and runs down the battery. Otherwise a nice car but I wouldn’t buy another unless I was sure that is fixed.

I want an MX-5 RF, but my wife says it needs to be more practical, so I was going to buy a CX-3 manual shift, but Mazda doesn't offer that in the states. I enjoyed the test drive, but felt I needed to test drive the CX-30 and glad I did. I was going to buy the sport trim, but wanted the cool red color, so bought a 2021 Select Trim. Enjoying it so far, but my wife is driving it more than me right now.

Depends, if you drove the Mazda 3 standard and you're not satisfied with power output then perhaps wait for the turbo. In the meantime, maybe drive a Mazda 6 turbo and see how you like the power and how it behaves. Also if you plan to keep for a long time past 5 years, non turbo cars tend to last a little longer but Mazda has been making the Turbo CX9 and Mazda 6 for a while now its not too bad I don't think

Mazda is definitely underrated. Almost got an RX-8 in 2003 but went with a Jeep Wrangler due to climate. I bet that Jeep is no more.

Great review Kevin. Mazda makes a good product but over priced for perceived premium product. It's mainstream just like a Kicks, chr, hrv Seltos etc... I wonder if anyone still buys the cx3. Since when is it snowing in one of your shots.

@@2RG_ Subaru is more practical for the purpose. Mazda sacrifices practicality for looks and interior. Mazda CX30 is no bigger than the CX3 and the rear seat is not usable at all for adults or even a booster seat for babies. Buying fake pseuo luxury interior just for the looks rather than actual practicality. I rather drive a korean car for that since it has turbo, and its also cheaper and pretty reliable.
