Jesse, the only explanation that makes sense imo: High attention to details makes development prohibitively expensive. No money left to finish the release version as Arena was the last hope. Microtransactions failed to cover costs: the audience is too grown-up. Had to go back to proven monetisation method of EOD-like pack. No money to pay for PvE servers for all EOD owners. No publisher to support. Can not tell the truth as the creditors would finish the company the next day. Will release an unfinished game to cut costs, lose reputation and will be closed. Maddox Games story repeated.

Already fade up for the last 2 - 3 wipes I only play the 1st 2 weeks, but now that the last nail in the coffin. Frickin love ya Jesse! Keep up the great work man! We all know you and the rest of the major creators out there dislike the current take from BSG and the new Edition. I'm sure many of us in the community (myself included) never wanted anything more for EFT than to thrive and become the masterpiece it could have been. I personally would have had no problem upgrading to the new edition (from EOD) if it were say 40$. I feel like the vast majority of people who play and enjoy Tarkov, would have had no problem paying a bit extra to support the company and the game we love so much. What other player base (excluding mmo's) has such a large player base with 2-15 thousand hours in their game? That doesn't come often, and it does not come if the people who play your game are not "true believers".

Commented before watching: I know u will get this right, i have full trust in your intelligence and morals as a gamer and consumer. Actual comment: I thought about this alot over the last 24h. Nikita is not stupid, he knows what he is doing and there is a reason for this. Every single fact speaks for the thesis that they need money, right now and better yesterday. Why else would u decide to pull this kind of a crazy money grab, when u could just slowly generate it over the microtransactions u just implemented without any big drama. There must be something going on behind the curtain, worse than setting your own company on fire. Just keep in mind, they wanted to finish Tarkov and move on to another game. Logically there is only two option: either you suggest they actually thought this was fine and not a big deal, but than why would u not engage in damage control in a smarter way OR u think, as i do, they knew exactly how this would go down with the playerbase, but had no choice otherwise cause the alternative would have been worse. With games like grey zone among others I feel like this was a bad time for Tarkov to put something like this out… I bought EOD for the reason of getting anything further free… then this comes out and it’s an extra $100 there is no way in hell I would put that much more into this game. I really don't think they are. For how many years did they say there will be no offline pvp co-op? Everyone knew there was none in their editions. On top, no one complained that the new skins or storage space dlc's weren't given to eod owners. No one complained then. Only when they thought their "I'm the top dog!" package might not have meant that they were a special little boy did they complain. Nikita said not long ago that there would be a new edition of the game and no one said anything. So far though, eod owners have sunk several hours into this game, we're given arena, the offline single player (without the save) and have now been given the version with save at release. So the main game, another game and another extra account beyond the main pmcs were getting on release and the scav were getting on release that is a cheater free experience, already spending hours playing the game and being given who knows how many more hours of entertainment and act like this is the end of the world and pretend like every AAA game does worse than this endlessly for a game you get a year our of max, that is just a reskinned version of the last game but while stealing all the ideas from small game devs making actual interesting games

I was actually looking forward to this edition I was going to buy it just because, why not.but when I found out that they had new DLC and I wasn’t going to get it unless I bought the new edition, I’m sorry but that pissed me off. If it hadn’t had new DLC for this edition only I would have already bought it. Sorry I just expect to get what I paid for. Even now after all the hoo-ha. Long post but a seemingly different take on the situation than what I've been hearing.... I completely understand the whole, "EOD was promised ALL future content" argument, and as an early EOD purchaser I would have loved for this new "Edition" to be given to me. However........ I have gotten hundreds of hours of enjoyment from my original $150 ish purchase, but I just don't have the time or desire to "Get Gud" at PVP and that has always been the deciding factor for when I stop playing a wipe, once I get to the missions that force me into PVP areas, and I get soft locked on missions and lose enjoyment of the game, I stop playing and I hate that feeling. This usually happens only a couple weeks into each wipe so my original purchase is no longer providing me any real entertainment value, and that's okay, I've had it for 6 years now, there aren't many finished games that I've played for more than a couple years. I bought this new edition because it solves almost everything I don't enjoy about the original EOD Tarkov, no more cheaters, no more Chads', I can engage in heavy gun battles if I want, or I can avoid them if I want. This new edition is perfect for players like me, and I plan on getting far more time and enjoyment from this PVE version than the original PVP, EOD edition. If you break it down to time spent in game enjoying yourself per dollar spent, I would say if you are like me this newer version is worth the upgrade IF you originally purchased EOD years ago. That being said I believe it should be split from the PVP version and made available for everyone at the upgrade price of $100. If you want both than they can justify a higher price of maybe $150 for both as a "bundle", but $250 is definitely way to much for at best a good PVE game and an arguably trash PVP game. Their spaghetti code can work for PVE but we've seen through the magnified failure of Arena that it is awful for PVP.
