Nice. I made a similar box for slotting fretboards. A bit wider as it is for ukulele fingerboards. Also it is not adjustable, just glued together. But it has worked well for the 10 fretboards I have manufactured.

That's the most pragmatic little shop-made miter box I've seen. Nicely done! Do you -- or could you -- use a larger version of that to cut fret slots?

I see no reason why you couldn't make a fret cutting system this way. You could even include a registration pin so that you could use a fretting template.

Yes, that’s what I do. On mine I made inserts out of Corian that are adjustable instead of slotting the sides, but either way would work.
