The release of the D Book 1 was too delayed, too limited, and overhyped - he had so many PEs, while having just one VERY limited release in Miami. By the time that these release, it feels like the hype has died down. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Ja Morant released too many colorways all at once, and barely had any highlighted PEs due to injury/NBA issues. Ja Morant and D Book’s first sneakers were on two ends of the release spectrum.

i wouldnt call it a flop this early but nike mishandled it 100%. you cant make the debut colorway limited to a city irrelevant to his journey and expect the hype build up/maintain when it seems like 20% of us love him and the other 80% hate his guts. even if the casuals didnt hate him so much, i still dont see the logic behind that. and it didnt even have to be phoenix or flop, if they chose grand rapids or moss point im sure his fans would have understood, or maybe they could have done all 3 on the same release date. the classic colorways have been fire, i fw the ones inspired by his dog haven, im predicting this to be a shoe like the kyrie 1 where we look back at in a few years and consider it a success(assuming its valid on court). i dont like the cool grey colorway (2k generic vibes) but theres a lot of hits from what i've seen online
