Don't get me wrong, the X2 is a GREAT camera, but in my experience, not on a big thumper. I will miss it!

Thanks Keith, petty. I bought one several years ago, don’t know the number - but I was too lazy to work out a video to publish after all. But I wore mine on a shoulder strap similar to a camel back. Also came with a belt, to use while skiing or so. I guess by wearing it on your body is more kind to the camera. Mine have never shut itself of yet this way. Now I’m gonna look for another video of yours, regarding 3-piston something…on 500/501, cu there. Best!

Had the same problem when used on S1000RR. Normal street riding - no problem. Track riding - constantly switching off.

You need to format the card. That prevents shut downs and lost footage. Same goes for GoPro

We sold our X2 just because I always worried about busting a lenses even tho we had lens protectors. Even tho we sold out I still highly recommend it to anybody who just wants a action camera to get the shot because the 360 gets all the shots! Also add that I have zero issues with ours mounted to the KTM1290SAR 🤙

Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been looking at getting a 360 cam for my 250 Rally and for work purposes and this is the first time I’ve seen a real life user not liking it. You’re 100% right about all the other reviewers being on multi cylinder bikes!

I do not have a motorbike but a casual human-powered mountain bike. Have had issues with the X2 recording some 10 or 15 seconds when riding - just wondering if it is indeed the vibration that shuts the thing down. I also have the first of the series, ONE X, and do not have any problems with it in any vibration condition. I just hope they would have stated that vibration issue in the web shop in the first place… I wonder if I can get my X2 changed at warranty asi I do not have much use for a camera that shuts down when there’s vibration…

i use a X2 and a X3 on my 500 every weekend with no problems. But i do not record for long periods of time. I use the new remote control and only record max 5 mins at a time.. This way you dont lose footage and your files are smaller, easier to work with and overall just more manageable. Even if it is a small break between recording. Try it and see if it works for you.

Interesting.. different people, different setups, different results. The 5 minute thing sounds good. I for one simply don't trust it anymore, and it's a lot of money to have tied up in something I don't trust to use. Thanks for sharing though, it's good to know you are getting use out of it with no issues.

I found on my dirt bike with my go pro ,if I hit a leaf or any brush while the GoPro was mounted to my helmet it would stop the go pro .it just about drove me insane with this constant problem .

I have enough problems with my GoPro and so did consider this but looks like the 360 is also not an option. Thanks for heads up Keith. The search continues...

It really depends where you intend to mount the thing. Some people use them as a helmet cam, either chin mounted or on top. And in that situation it would be fine, because your body is a giant vibration damper. But mounted directly on the bike, it cops the lot.

Thanks for the heads up Keith, good info! 👍🏼 I just have a couple questions I'm wondering if you could answer please? 1. With your iPhone & Quad Lock mount issue, which version of iPhone was it that you had issues with, and were you using the Quad Lock vibration dampener? I have an iPhone 12 Pro and I'm trying to find out if anyone has had issues with that model on a Quad Lock mount with a vibration dampener attached. 2. Have you used a GoPro mounted to the 500 at all? If so, any issues? I see a few people mentioning having issues with a GoPro in the comments.

1. iPhone 11. No damper. Had a mate with iPhone 11 Pro, no damper, same result. 2. Only ever used the Hero5 Session on the 500, which worked fantastic. No issues. But I've never used a late model gopro.

I gave up my go pro for the same reason. No point running a camera that cant compensate for the vibrations and light changes of riding the trail conditions.

Have you got any more footage taken with the 360 on that long pole before you sold it?

Yes, but it's basically unusable. As soon as you get off the tarmac the bouncing renders the whole thing pointless. Fantastic on the road though.

also riding with that long stick makes no sense on enduro bikes for obvious reasons.
