Get a bright white case it will help. Dark colors will absorb/attract the heat. This is why fancy pro lenses are white.

Thank you! I use a very bright yellow case (the official Apple Silicone one). Unfortunately it still overheats massively and quickly. The actual overheating warning is rare, but display dimming when it is 30c/86f+ out is almost instant :(

I currently have the iPhone 13 (standard model) and am considering upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro Max this year. I believe it would be a significant upgrade, particularly in terms of the camera, battery, and display. While the battery on my iPhone 13 has always been reliable, I've noticed that it now drains more quickly, especially on longer days. Do you think upgrading this year is a good idea, or should I wait until next year? Hi there, and thanks for watching! About your question, here is a two-part answers: 1) Regarding battery life, if you're still happy with your overall iPhone experience, I'd recommend just changing the battery. This, originally at Apple (and that is the only thing I'd do - avoid these dodgy corner shops), costs just $99 and it gives you a BRAND NEW battery, which is gonna change your world if you're using a 2-3 year old iPhone. 2) BUT... if you're really after the latest and greatest cameras (I'm guilty of this myself), then that is always a reason for me to upgrade. Especially coming from a standard to a pro-model is a significant upgrade. You do NOT have to go Pro Max unless you want the bigger display though, as the camera features based on the latest leaks (Sunday, 8th Sep) appear to be the same across both, the Pro and Pro Max now. @@onlineletsplayer It is really hard to say right now! I'd say if you want a better phone, the best time to buy is almost around the release date. Either you get discounts on the old, or you get the maximum time out of the new versions. The following year will always have upgrades that make you want to buy a new phone. That's marketing for you. And Apple is really good at that. 😬

iPhone 12 is the last generation I'd currently recommend yep. Still very solid phone. But you will not get any AI features unless you're on the 15 (Pro) or later. I think Apple Intelligence will be a HUGE DEAL - in one or two years. In the next year, it's mostly going to be testing hahaha. Not worth it quite yet.

the iphone 12 was a very solid one, so without AI features, I'd just exchange the battery which must be a bit annoying by now. if you exchange it ($99 at an Apple Store), you will basically get a new phone

@@TechWandererYT Currently my battery is still at 84%, and it lasts me practically until the end of the day without needing to be charged. There's really no reason for me to upgrade. The AI features are more of a marketing ploy, but they haven't convinced me that I really need them. I wish my 12 had more nits though, sometimes using it outdoors is difficult.

If you come from an S20 Fan Edition, the 16 Pro Max could be a decent upgrade. But maybe not as big as you'd think! Maybe best to wait for next year indeed.

Very good question, with a very easy answer. Apple supports iPhone's for 7 years, and that means, the XR (released in 2018) will stop seeing upgrades this year. That means, the XR will get iOS 18, but it is the oldest generation iPhone that will get it, and it will not receive iOS 19 next year. If you usually use your phones for 4-5 years+, the minimum iPhone I would by if I was you is an iPhone 15. And because the iPhone 15 (standard models) will not get any Apple Intelligence features, and you may not upgrade for 4-5 years, I would go 15 Pro (which will get the AI features). If you want the 5x zoom camera, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, or of course the iPhone 16 Pro / 16 Pro Max will also be fantastic options. Regardless of choosing the 15 Pro or 16 Pro / Pro Max, it will be a HUGE upgrade in A LOT of ways. I hope this was helpful!

Wait for 16 release, then when prices drop get the 15.. The only thing really changes its the cameras, but is not a big difference between one gen.

I'd get the iPhone 15 Pro as a minimum, unless you want the 5x camera zoom, then the Pro Max. If you prefer the smaller versions (standard or Pro), then the 16 is a better option.

What phone are you on right now? The Plus model is historically the best battery life, though this might change this year. The 15 Plus had insane battery life, and if that's the most important to you, I'd go for that. Alternatively, get a decent everyday power bank. I actually made a video on that last week on my channel recommending my favorites!
