The only similarity between a Sherp and a FatBoy (FB) is the concept. Sherp is self sustaining and backwoods repairable. FB is complicated 1. FB, good luck repairing your steering 2.Sherp provides minimal tools, but that's all you need. 3. FB is maintenance free, heh heh heh that means when it breaks down you can't maintain it. This is a corporate work version of a Sherp to me. It's not meant to travel long distances, but to carry people to remote sights. I don't think they will sell many of these to private owners, it's for another market entirely. I think most of these will be rented for drill sights and things like that. I don't consider this a "knock-off", more like something changed for a specific market in Canada and Alaska.

Fat Truck uses an air compressor for tire pressure change. Not exhaust gas as the Sherp does. The majority of Sherp videos, you will see the front window open. Heat and exhaust gas. Fat Truck has standard ROPS (roll over protection). Required by majority of job sites. Fat Truck utilizes a Hydrostatic transmission. Sherp is mechanical. Operation of Fat Truck is smoother for the operator via the joy stick. Fat Truck has climate control. No doubt this Canadian company fell in love with the sherp and seen an opportunity to make it safer and compliant for North America with also using a tier IV final engine. (EPA). I've seen both. Amazing what they can do. My two cents.

They made the steering better/easier and getting in and out easier the individual fold down seating in the rear is an improvement in my opinion. That's just what I got from the video.
@loganholmberg22954 жыл бұрын
@@vaughnburrows I don't know. I think the simple benches in the back of the Sherp are better since allot of people I see with these things are usually just 1 to 2 people and they use the back for cargo or the odd extra passenger. Also the Design of the Sherp lets you open the front window when you're in water....This doesn't look like you can open the front at all when driving.
@vaughnburrows4 жыл бұрын
@@loganholmberg2295 The Beauty of it all is that I prefer the fold down seats to use it as a family adventure vehicle and you seem to prefer the regular benches but now both you and I have options, now they just need to bring down the price some how without sacrificing quality. Not saying I'm going to buy one, but you never know when an extra 100,000 could end up on your lap.
