Good thing to point out is that this also applies to halftracks and other vehicles that can garrison as well

I've had this happen alot and its annoying esp when you're trying to get a low health squad out of danger at the last moment. Will probably start shift clicking to get the reinforcements out in time.

You can kinda negate that by shifting commands with the last command being the garrison order. So, for example, if you want to heal up and reinforce a Squad with a troop transport nearby u might want to do something useful with them (build mines, lay sandbages etc.) so that by the time there done they are reinforced and can then heal up in the troop transport while you as a player can do other stuff.
