I believe our Ministry of Foreign Affairs need to stipulate a Minimum Wage allowed especially for House Maids, just like what the Philippines Government has done. This will reduce a lot of the problems you here about what Kenyan House Maids are going through. These problems and complaints we hear always is because the House Maids are promised something else with the agents and when they come here, they find it is a totally different story! @@jamilajirii5156 my friend move on, stop cancelling your flight. All employers are not the same, provided you know what is in the contract, rules and law. Just be very sharp to approach your employer in case of any problem. After a year you must be paid a one month salary bonus. So stop listening to negative remarks. Whatever has been discussed happens but not in civilized countries like Dubai, Qatar and Bahrain. There is domestic job rules or rules for every profession. Thanks.

Agent lied to me about the nature of work and I used to work for 18 hours and begging for salary each month. I complained to my agent and he never helped out, later I was sold to another house hold. I decided to continue working but when my life was in danger I had to find help. Thank God I was saved now living in Swiss.

Thanks for advising whoever would be interested... however people also need to be told that an African will always be seen as lower cast in any Asian and Arab countries and thats a fact... even in Kenya look around the people employed by Asians, unfortunately Arabs/Asians see Africans the same even in developed countries where you would expect less discrimination... They will look and treat their fellow Arabs/Asians better in most cases than Africans...
