I believe our Ministry of Foreign Affairs need to stipulate a Minimum Wage allowed especially for House Maids, just like what the Philippines Government has done. This will reduce a lot of the problems you here about what Kenyan House Maids are going through. These problems and complaints we hear always is because the House Maids are promised something else with the agents and when they come here, they find it is a totally different story! Thanks for advising whoever would be interested... however people also need to be told that an African will always be seen as lower cast in any Asian and Arab countries and thats a fact... even in Kenya look around the people employed by Asians, unfortunately Arabs/Asians see Africans the same even in developed countries where you would expect less discrimination... They will look and treat their fellow Arabs/Asians better in most cases than Africans...

Just be very sharp to approach your employer in case of any problem. After a year you must be paid a one month salary bonus. So stop listening to negative remarks. Whatever has been discussed happens but not in civilized countries like Dubai, Qatar and Bahrain. There is domestic job rules or rules for every profession. Thanks.

True, I know this is hard in any Arabic countries, But it works this way, when you get to an Arabian country, make sure before you leave the country of their own, have ur papers stamped by the ministry of Home and Affairs, then when you get there, in that country, register urself in the Home affairs office in that country. So if you get or go thru such a situation chanuka.

True but if your embassy is good enough and you don't have money to pay for your ticket, they take you back to your country even if you are not done with your contract and there are others who will take you to different houses instead of taking you back to your country. Mimi nililipiwa na boss b4 nimalize contract at my first time in Oman, nilimaliza only 9 months nikaongeleshwa baba akiniambia niwape 3 more more months coz office ya Oman ilikuwa imefungwa . I left b4 completing my contract in peace with gifts from madam .
