It's hybrid strumming. Where you strum up and down in pattern but alternate between playing a single note and a strum. There are lots of songs like that. You can listen to two Hindi songs "Agar mein Kahun" from film lakshya and "Kholo Kholo Darwaze" from Tare zamin par where similar techniques were used by Eshaan Noorani (he is an awesome guitarist and music director)
