I returned money he gave me to buy a car because he wasn’t spending time with me, I felt neglected. I did it to let him know I needed him, his love, time & attention, not his money, but he was so hurt for a long time over it. He told me how hard he worked to save that money & gave it to me wholeheartedly. I didn’t understand his reaction then or how wrong I was but I get it now. 😞

Kirk, I consider myself to be independent have my own money, I don’t like asking anyone for anything. However, I was in a relationship with someone who basically experienced exes and ex wives that according to him, he was their meal ticket. That info caused me to not asking him things because i genuinely had deep feelings for him and didn’t want him to think i was using him. In fact, I continuously proved to him that i can afford everything in my own. But he never offers. I developed a bit of resentment towards him because if I don’t ask he doesn’t give and I wanted him to offer. I wanted him him to be like, babe I got this. Or babe I got you something special. Nothing. How do I navigate this if I come across it again?

i had the same with my now ex bf....and I know he was aware of mu situation...we were going 50/50 but his income was much bigger than mine so eventually I basically went broke... Because it's a big difference if you constantly take out a half of a big chunk or take out a half of a small chunk.. I'm left with a small other half while he has his big half left...50/50 on very different incomes is the furthest thing from equal and fair!!! and I also was trying to prove to him that I'm with him because of him and not money and I was never asking for anything to him and yeah, now, looking back I see, that he actually abused it. He would be there for us, ladies, if he wanted!!! The fact that we all ended up struggling (!!!) while next to a man(!!) means he was chosing to turn the blind eye because HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU/ME!!!!

' and of course I heard an excuse but after that he offered a few times. But I've also noticed that the times he did spend money he threw it back in my face later.
