There will be some islands worth visiting including Top 25 tourist things to do for Singles, Couples and families including places to stay for value for money. We look forward to those videos including best value return airlines fares from London, Sydney, Singapore, New York and Paris including best months to visit to avoid crowd and high airfares and accommodation costs. May I add to number 1: Please do not wear sleeveless tops in Indonesia. Look around you and you will quickly realize that Indonesians ALWAYS COVER THEIR SHOULDERS IN PUBLIC. Just because indonesian people are too polite to say anything and most tourists do it doesn't mean that it is not totally disrespectful.

@@JeanVoronkova nice.. In 1995 I used to stay right above it. There was a nice hotel called Bali Cliff resort with the first escalator in Bali Indonesia down to the beach. And a restaurant in that big cave. Supposedly the best right in Bali at green bowl. Or green ball as it was called last time. Maybe it was bowl all the while but no literature, no internet or Google so all called it green ball then. Used to swim across to melasti which was usually deserted becasue it was a very hard steep trek down the cliffs.

@@terubong you are the Ultimate Fount of Knowledge about Bali mate! so wasted you aren't laying it out to share in a website or youtube or smtg! Green Ball/Bowl is a question. Different sites & wave apps put it differently - we hv no idea which is the correct name haha. Its my favourite righthander n actually favourite surf spot in Bali. The surf gateway is down 300+ steps near the temple... there's only 2 warungs there and nothing else.. certainly no nice hotel and escalator in sight leh. Must be another entrance to Green Ball/Bowl, but the surf area Green Bowl/Ball is so gorgeous and relatively untouched we both love being there. The 300+ steps puts off many surfers so its never too busy a lineup too. Can't believe u swim across to Melasti.... that's quite a swim!!!
@terubong2 жыл бұрын
@@JeanVoronkova Oh no, what I know is history of Bali. The Bali today is very very different from what I knew. Eg is Canggu. Such a mess of roads today but when I left it was miles and miles of paddies with a few small houses. That hotel I mentioned was a Suharto era resort. It was beside the small temple, on the right facing the sea. Very nice, but sadly demolished. So no more escalator. One of your viewers Alan Bond will know that place well too. Glad you liked this area, there are no more secret spots on the Bukit now. Some of the little beaches I knew last time now have names and we can all see it clearly on google maps. The old-timers were lamenting how hard it was for us to discover a new totally secluded and unspoilt beach. Hours of exploration and climbing. There is no more privacy now. Google tells all is to know.
@terubong2 жыл бұрын
@@JeanVoronkova Melasti isn't far, on a low tide, its just a short swim if I recall. For the most part it was short pristine beach with some rocks and caves. You just swim around the rocks to the next beach enclave.

I think a good list, your view of the friendliness of the Balinese local is I feel viewed through rose tinted glasses. I would add: 1. Don't get into an argument with a local, you will be surrounded in seconds few. 2. Avoid incidents at any cost, you will be to blame regardless. 3. Do not expect the police or legal system to be impartial; they are not. 4. Normal accepted driving practices in the rest of the world are not practiced here, ride/drive defensively and be on your guard at all times.

On another matter, how was the impact of loss of tourism due to covid on the Balinese people and expats?
@JeanVoronkova2 жыл бұрын
it's coming back nicely at the moment we can already see influx of tourists and they're all having a great time. the locals look very cheered up at this. They're all looking forward to a return to the situation pre-covid i think. its been 2 lean years for most.

Indonesian people are mostly muslims, so i was confused when she said there are "ritual offerings to the gods" laying in the street. then i realized that its only there in bali where theres a small hindu community it seems, this does of course not be true for the rest of the country, as those offerings are strictly forbidden in islam.

Not all Muslims in eastern Indonesia, Manado, Papua, Toraja, East Nusa Tenggara such as Labuan Bajo, Komodo Island, Kupang and other cities are predominantly Christian.

oh yes you're right - Bali is the exception in Indonesia being a Hindu majority island with its own special Balinese hinduism culture and spirituality.

that's interesting, thank you for sharing i didn't know about that. Komodo too? wow.

Number 1 thing that you should never ever do in Bali or Indonesia is to traffic drugs. Drug trafficking is the easiest death penalty that you can get here in Indonesia
