Here's the unwritten rule of Guwahati Transport Bus.. If the right side unreserved seats of bus is full, males can opt to sit at left side reserved ladies seat, no women will say anything. If the left side is full and you see a female boarding a bus, then you voluntarily give up the ladies seat.

Uber drivers in Chennai are just as frustrating, cancelling or asking for you to switch to cash on arrival which then is not possible. I'll happy tip a little if drivers are decent its when they're rude or demand a tip that I won't. I should also say that I have had as many, if not more, amazing cab or auto rickshaw drivers who have taught me much about about Indian culture, language, food and politics :) I've also inadvertently joined or tried to join ladies only airport queues or train carriages a half dozen times when visiting India. I hope locals just realise this is a misunderstanding (since we don't have this segregation in the UK) and are not offended. It's sad indictment on men that this has to exist at all and that groping of women happens in any country :(

@powerindrajeet.d Well a friendly suggestion to you after watching Tommy's thrilling blogs, why don't you yourself with your friends and family make a plan and book a NE package tour specially in winter if you love NE so much and inquisitive about what's been unexplored. Why always it's like only foreign bloggers like our Tommy and a few more had to show the magnificent beauty and explore the hidden gems of North East to our own Domestic tourists for which they are totally unknown till date. Isn't it sad that foreign bloggers now letting Indians know about their own country (India) through their blogs. And we Indians find their blogs interesting and loaded with nice comments. But hesitate to come here even today. Why so?? That Era is gone sir. Now NE is getting developed at a very rapid pace be it connectivity, infrastructure, Healthcare, Tourism, Education and much more and also getting focus in mainland India. specially in Assam and Guwahati being the largest of NE cities is getting new look under smart city projects thanl it was 10 years back. So don't bother so much, just come out of that so called "negative perception" about NE which bothers many to come and explore. I am sure you will have a life time experience to see the unmatched beauty and unparalleled hospitality of local people here in Assam and other NE states and indulge yourself amidst nature's kaleidoscope and intoxicating fragrance of Tea Gardens 🍵 in Assam and adventurous wild life. Request Tommy also come out of city life and explore the wild scenario here in Assam if you are in Assam. Your blog us really inspiring. Thank you 😊 👋 🙏

I asked a girl seated nearby and she confirmed I was in the right train. It was in this moment I saw a man holding on to the train from the outside literally hanging out of the open door (trains there run with open doors). He peeked inside staring with angry eyes at me. Suddently he rushes inside charging towards me - shouting at me in hindi. It was in this moment that I noticed the guy was wearing a uniform from the train company. From next time onwards try to search those signs or ask the bus conductor for a proper seat. Yes the uber services in Guwahati sucks, experienced it myself 3 times. They even cancel in the last minute, they even waited for me to cancel so that they won't have to bear the cancellation charges.

I have visited India many times for my work and this one thing I have learned through my experience that one can never trust the taxi services. There are infinite reasons that your taxi reservation will get cancelled just an hour before the scheduled departure. . . . weather, some religious fest, some local election, traffic, too early in the morning, too late in the evening, no drivers available, etc. and etc.

You sat there because it was empty and there is nothing wrong in that. You got up very politely, it is a regular thing to do. Locals do it all the time.... But the local boy sitting behind could have also offered his seat to the lady imo.
