As silly as it sounds, the US has a ton of AG pitches, but the selection of AG boots in the US market is so much smaller than whats available in Europe. Most of the boots, even high end ones, that most stores and online sellers carry are just FG.

+jaja Sure, they might do an OK job in terms of not being a big injury risk, but the durability will still suffer. Disagree on Hypervenom 1 FG on AG - I've done that quite a lot and apart from the abrasion being rough on them, I did feel that was too stuck, especially on 3G. 4G might be OK but IMO they're still a bit too long. Bottom line is - even if they're kinda safe in terms of injuries, your boots will break and there won't be warranty. /Jay

A lot of Highschool players here in Texas wear FG boots on AG surfaces because most HS teams either train on grass or they play club on the grass and don't want to buy AG boots as well. Or in my friend's case, he thinks AG boots are pointless and insist that FG boots can be worn on AG surfaces with no damage.

KostasLO2 the best way to find out is to go in a shop and put them on. Vapor 11 are normaly slim but if you like them most you can get them and run them wide

I play almost daily on both AG pitches and FG pitches but don't have the money for two high quality boots. I am about to purchase new boots (Superflys if FG or Hypervenom if AG) and I am debating on whether to go AG or FG. The main benefit to the superfly for me is the sole plate and I feel like I'd waste that if I got an AG version.

The Santoryu Savage Look in the sale on big online retailers. For the price of a pair of Superflys you can get 2-3 pairs of high end boots in older colourways/generations. If you want the NikePlate soleplate, maybe you'll like the Vapor XI which I have seen for around $100. That way you could get a pair of Vapor XI FG and a pair of high-end AG boots for around $170-210. If you really want one pair, get the Phantom 3 DF AG. The soleplate is pretty aggressive for an AG boot so it will be OK on FG and your joints will thank you later on.

Daniel Reid The Evospeed is slightly narrower, and the fit is more customisable. The durability is exactly the same between the two, unless you are playing on AG, in which case DO NOT buy the Evospeed. The soleplate will separate from the upper very quickly and they will be extremely uncomfortable due to stud pressure.

Hi XxPYROxX, that completely depends if you got the AG or FG version. If you have AG you can use them on both normal grass and artificial grass, if you have the FG version, only ever use them on real grass and not artificial grass.

Ryan Luthur me personally i feel that the phantom 2 has a tighter fit then the magista. The magista is more of a wider boot so it wouldn't be as tight as the phantom. But again you do have cables on the side of the boot so if you pull hard on the laces you should achieve a tight fit on both boots.

Elias Axelsson the nike AG-Pro look like they would. AG studs are often quite soft and will wear off on harder surfaces.

Elias Axelsson It unlikely harms the durability but I believe fg/ag won't give you the "proper" grip like a true ag boot. Anw, if you play both on ag and fg, and aren't able to spend to much, fg/ag boot is the way to go.
