This kind of trailer campers are great to use when one is building say an off grid camper in the middle of nowhere and said one wanted to do the occasional 2 day build binger...

As your kids age, they’d love to invite their friends to the mountain cabin. Having this as extra sleeping space / movie hut would be cool. Hope your family visit is going great! ❤

Always been a big fan of your builds. I truly can't thank you enough for doing this kind of content, where you follow up on a project and go over things you'd change, and mistakes that were made! I often see DIYers making projects that look great, but I wonder to myself what mistakes they hid along the way, or how the project holds up over time. Not in a cynical way, I've just made a lot of projects on a DIY level and wonder these things to myself from experience. Love the build, keep up the awesome work man

I think this build video was what made me find your channel a couple years back. It’s been a fun ride. Keep it up!

You may have had some problems over time, but I still think yours is one of the best builds I have seen. And I have watched dozens/hundreds of these videos in preparation to build my own. I really liked the under neath drawers, that was an awesome idea, and a great way to be able to raise the actual sleeping area up enough to make it wider than the trailer. When the time comes, I will use some of your ideas and techniques on my own build. So thank you for the videos, even if there are some problems. :-) BTW...how fast can you tow it? Supposedly these HF trailers are only rated for up to 45 mph.
@WoodnessGoodness4 ай бұрын
I’ve towed it at around 70MPH no problem BUT I did upgrade the wheels which have a higher speed rating.

Before you tear that apart to rebuilt it, consider "wrapping" it with some sort of waterproof membrane. You could get black, cover the whole top and halfway down the sides or something. You could stretch it as one piece or lap seam it. Whatever. But that would be effective and alot less hassle than tearing it apart and rebuilding it.

Holy Woodness Ivegotalilcamperness baby!!! That was a great little build brother and occupied us watching you build it, which was probably the main goal in mind. Didn’t your trailer try to run away from you at one time? Maybe you should just set it free lol. I think you should spruce it up and leave it at the cabin so you can keep things there and spend the night while you’re working on it. Keep getting after it big G.

First time is always a learning curve. Now you know. If you build another one what to do and what not to do. As for the bedliner smell from the drawer. Park it in the sun obviously on a nice clear day and leave it open generally have found that relieves it.

Looks like you could haul that up to the cabin! What a luxury apartment that would be for the Pack Rats! Rat Air B&B!!

I wonder where you bought the Epoxy Resin and the fiberglass cloth. I can't find it anywhere for a reasonable price. Btw, I like the build and thanks for the tips.

I got the rolls off eBay from what I remember. And the epoxy products from totalboat.com

You could sell the trailer just for the trailer,save the windows and door and scrap the shell. Personally I would've have a aluminum shell frame made and use either RV tin or the other material they build RV's with. I'd add a more aerodynamic front to it with storage space. Back in the sixties my dad made a wooden shelled enclosed luggage carrier out of wood and painted it silver to mount on the Family '67 Chevy Impala station wagon to go and visit my mom's people halfway across the country. When it wasn't being used he kept it stored overhead in the garage.

I wonder if you did Laminated fiberglass / foam like a boat how that would change the weight / structure.

But you can still use it. You could use it up at the cabin and comfortably do sleepovers so you can get even more work done up there on the mountain.

Could build just like a simple garage roof thing and park it underneath and still use it

@WoodnessGoodness5 ай бұрын
Haha great question. I should do an update video for that too I guess
@Keasbeysknight5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I was wondering where it went and kinda sad we never got to see it used for its intent? Didn't you want it to be a mobile tool shed you could sleep in? I'm assuming for the cabin?

Yea I thought so too. Just haven’t had the time to be able to fix and damp with it. Got a lot of irons in the fire.

Spare door only makes sense for fire safety, but for such a small space I don't know if it matters. Sucks that it was damaged and you didn't get to really use it.
