The best part (in my opinion) about this game is how much variety it has. Not to spoil too much, but your first day of surviving doesn't have to be against giant spiders. Neither does your 2nd day have to be preparing against the frigid cold. This game makes you really think when it gives you these red herring items that you won't know if you need until you actually try to survive, at which point - they kill you (like if you were to use the heat absorbers when fighting the cold). Absolutely wonderful game, im glad you played it!

Yes, some of the games are connected, like Cody being from the Deep Sleep series, and also we can see multiple references to the Deep Sleep series through the game, like the comas and stuff, and how the Sidereal Plexus was the one behind the experiments in persons who were in coma. It also connects to the Don't Escape 3 game, with the spaceship we are in being from Sidereal Plexus. About the blonde character in Don't Escape 2, it was just a coincidence as far as I'm aware, but the part of Cody having a dream about zombies could definitely be a reference to Don't Escape 2.

I think people are forgetting manly is joking when he says he should have saved Barry, this isn't the first time manly had mad morbid and silly jokes. It's harmless and he doesn't mean it for those upset about the joke. And as for the ending the characters bodies are there but the soul and mind are in different world separated from their current bodies. Unfortunately our protagonist wakes up in a parallel world where basically the same thing happens but maybe he'll meet different people etc. It's intriguing.

This was an oddly very emotional sci-fi game... I actually felt bad for the soldiers sharing their last whiskey. I was just thinking it would be funny if he goes into the sleeper and then suddenly he is looking up at the moon as it crashes into the earth. Also either there is an offset with a ton of the worlds where the moon fell, since not only does he get memories from other versions of himself that is twenty seven hours a head of him, but also he was four days a head of this new him, or the dream world transcends time. Also imagine being David that survived the first three nights but just chilled at the house, went out side at night and just saw the moon come down.

Random theory i just thought of, what if the disc you insert is how you warned yourself with the predictive dreams? The disc helps with memory so maybe the reason you have predictive dreams on the days the disasters happened ( spider, rain, etc. ) was because those were the few memories you retained from the transfer. Really makes me wonder what happens if you have both disc.. Also side theory but the choice of saving Barry or Cody is where you chose which disc you get, so the awakening probably lets you save both with some type of item ( like the rope used to get the wielding kit )

*WARNING:Spoilers ahead, don't read if you haven't watched the full game yet.* For your first theory, yes, the main character doesn't fully remember everything that happened in his "past life", but he has some prophetic dreams about what will happen. About having the 2 disks part, when you insert both disks in the end of the game, the characters of the game will be able to fully wake up in their "next life" with all their memories from their "past life". About the side theory, yes, the disk depends on who are with you in the moment you get to the Sidereal Plexus office, meaning if you only have 1 character alive with you there, you will only be able to get 1 disk. If Cody is alive, he is able to crawl in the vents and open the door that is locked for us, which would be impossible for an adult to do. If Barry is alive, we can ask for his help to remove the thing blocking one of the doors, which would be impossible to do without 2 adults there. Also, about the way you can save both of them, in your awakening walkthrough, you will get visited by an important thing depending on who you chose to survive in the Sidereal Plexus office rooftop, for instance, if you save Cody, you will get visited by Barry's wife, and she will tell you to warn Barry about not going with them to the rooftop, which will make you be able to save Cody while Barry is waiting for you down there. As if you decide to save Barry, you will get visited by Cody's tiger plushie, and it warns you about not letting Cody go with you to the rooftop, which will let you save Barry while Cody stays down there.

As Phenoix said this is kind of better, in Soma a you does escape, just not the you you play, or the other you you play, then again you do get to play they you that did survive for a little bit, it's kind of subjective if you think you survive since you have copies that do and those that don't. In this your mind actually does make it out, not a copy of it, though it isn't fully intact with the memory loss, but you could also see it similar to the Soma ending since there are tons of you's that don't make it and you use them as a stepping stone to actual survive.

If they get really unlucky a single well placed micrometeoroid will end the simulation. Plus, even if things go well and they get to live for millions of years without going insane inside the simulation, what then? The main reason I said the Soma situation is worse is because it's the end of the journey with no chance of progress. It's less an ark and more of a prison.

This is one of those games that requires multiple runs. What we saw at the end is in fact the beginning of the 2nd run; another series of "Don't Escape" events, but with some differences. These type of sifi stories of oh just tranfer your mind to a new place. But you end up back in the same place in a endless loop. Or a Soma scenario where its another transfer your mind. Where their a 50/50 chance your current state gets transfered. But the real you gets sucked in that shit world. Like only a copy of you makes it. Then you lose the only companion you have do to an argument. I guess its the fear of being alone in death. Although I love being alone its something about this deep. I had thought the 2 main characters looked a little like Okabe and Kurisu only because I just finished their VN. Cate even seemed a bit tsun. Then they talked about copying consciousnesses, parallel worlds and reliving past dreams. That's when I got the chills~ Great game.

I'd like to think next time around we just sprint directly to where we meet everyone, tell them that you've already done this, then just speedrun to the launch pad and get to the moon on the first day after finding a better Phase Controller Disk. All so you'd have the days needed to actually install the thing.
