MahoGats TFM: As good as it is, this song has way more potential. She needs a producer to help add some proper electronic layering. It's a bit too stripped back for style song that it is. I love this song, but it needs a kick. Listen to "Darling" by Beach House for a clue as what I mean by layering. I believe I could launch this song into another level with the right equipment and musicians.
@mahogatstfm81606 жыл бұрын
It's actually a kind of bit sad how modern music only makes it if it's been launched into another level with sound effects and background vocals and layering. Such a video like this is literally pure voice and simple instruments being played but will never go viral or anything because it doesn't meet up to the standards of the music of today. I'm just hoping that it will at some point blow up if Maddie makes it far into the competition or launches a career that does well from this point forward. :)
@RCmack6 жыл бұрын
With Maddie's American Idol exposure, I believe she will have no problem finding the right equipment and musicians to really make this song big. One aspiring star guitarist that would definitely make a difference is Luke McQueary, currently performing in Nashville at Robert's Western World with the Don Kelley Band. And I'm sure there's many others out there like Luke. Maddie also needs to find a good manager.

I've always been the only kid who never really wanted to grow up, being an adult isn't for me. I may change my mind someday, and I have no choice but to grow older, but in many ways I'm still the same kid who spends her summers having adventures, playing with her dolls, having snowball fights in winter, watching cartoons, trick or treats on Halloween, plays video games, seeing the magic in everything. Whenever I see a hopscotch setup anywhere, I always jump the squares. Whenever I see a video game on display, I always play it. My friends think I'm a little weird for being so childlike in a lot of ways but they've admitted they're also envious that I still get excited about things like going to the park or seeing snow fall. I was even jazzed up about the solar eclipse in 2017 even though it was just a partial eclipse here.

That was the way, that was the way it was When you're five years old and don't have nowhere else to run Except into your mother's arms, where she held you so tight And you're scared of the dark so you sleep with your little night light When you walked up to school and everyone there was your best friend When you learned your numbers and shapes and played pretend You didn't mind that your hair was a mess, you were so carefree You didn't know how cold and cruel this world would one day be We were just so young We should have known We should have known That one day we'd hate our bodies and we'd orbit around buttons on a phone We should have known That one day we'd pluck our eyebrow hairs and wonder why the cool kids stared at me Oh why'd it have to be Our imaginations have run dry We hate ourselves and have a nightly cry And then we act like we're fine It's alcohol and bombs and drugs, don't ever let your children grow up (Oh oh oh oh oh oh) We would swing on the swings and jump off and pretend we could fly But as soon as we blinked we grew up and we're junior high So our dads dropped us off at the park and we stayed out 'till ten So the makeup comes out and we think we need the perfect boyfriend We were just so young How didn't we know How didn't we know That we'd be independent on our own and lose more friends while traveling down the road Oh, how didn't we know That there's more to life than sleepovers and jocks turn out worse than the science nerds But somehow that all gets blurred And some relationships they end real fast And though you want you might never get it back The doors close just like that It's depression and it's broken love, don't ever let your children grow up (Oh oh oh oh oh oh) Check Out (Vocals) We're no longer young So now that we know So now that we know That this world could use some turning 'round, if only we could find some common ground But it's up to us And although at times it gets so rough, you have got to let your children grow up Yeah, you have got to let your children, got to let your children grow up

If you don’t win this season, I SWEAR you will have a record deal of some sort writing music from here on out. You have so much talent! And I can’t stop listening to this song. I’m a single mom and it hurts me knowing my son will be raised around mostly technology over what really matters...also I almost cried at the end because I don’t want to let him grow up! 🙈😭

Makes me cry about when I was little :/ being adopted but then having to be diagnosed with medical conditions, then people make fun of me but I never cared I went through with life :) but some days you have to let go. I don’t want to grow up because I have no dad and I only have a mom and when she dies I’ll never have a family member as memorable as mom, she always was there for me. (for the record My medical conditions aren’t life threatening nor are they all rare) the only two rare medical conditions I have are CMT 1A and Hypotonia. For all the kids watching this don’t let kids bully you because your parents are waiting for you to come home that day and someday you won’t be a kid anymore. Also everybody like this song, and give it up for Maddie she’s an amazing singer with amazing talent!

This is beautiful. I’m still only 12, but I remember when my cousins reached their “grown up” point. One time I saw them and we played for hours, and the next time I was a little annoying pest to them. Then I matured a little more, but I still love things like bouncy houses and playgrounds. Don’t judge me.😂
