Do most cloud engineers work at the office or remote? My main interest is living abroad internationally while working in tech remotely for a US company.
@ririsou28872 ай бұрын
That’s actually harder than you think since almost all tech companies now require “remote” workers to physically scan badges in at least 2 times a week. You might also run into legal issues

I've been working remote the last 2 years and going to the office is not a requirement at all

As a jun you won’t be in a position to dictate but in a few years all going right you’d be valuable if not indispensable. So you’ll be able to reach a deal ref your remote work. As always, first put in a helluva effort, then enjoy the fruits.

Not sure about other countries but in the US they are legally not allowed to ask your age. Keep any dates of degrees or relevant experience off your resume that go back more than ~12 years. They need people with the skills. Even if the job listing says "Cyber/CS/Stats degree required" it is absolutely not required, especially if you got a license like a CPA which is just as hard. What is required are the certs (CISSP, CISA, CCSP, etc.) to get your foot in the door of the HR people and relevant personal projects if you have no exp in tech to prove to hiring managers you know what you are talking about.

@statusquoreject4 ай бұрын
@blacklightentertainment758 Ui design is not easy or fast to learn. It's an extremely competitive field and requires studying design extensively, but it doesn't require learning any programing because the software writes the code for you. I've been doing UX, UI and industrial design for almost 10 yrs.
@blacklightentertainment7584 ай бұрын
@@statusquoreject yeah I was talking about the not programming aspect ,that’s what I am learning now ,any other skills or concepts I need to know
@statusquoreject4 ай бұрын
@@blacklightentertainment758 For UI design you should still learn some UX principles to better understand how to implement the UI effectively and why it's designed the way it is. Also knowing the principles of graphic design, typography and digital design helps a lot too becasue you'll be using those same design principles. Learning how to make sure design is responsive to scale for different devices is key and focus on getting really good with software like Figma, Framer, the Adobe suite etc. Knowing a little about React can be helpful too.

Another thing is Microsoft introduction of new tools like Power BI and Power Apps.

Diversify your tech skillset with something else, like maths/stats or business domain knowledge of an industry like banking or pharma, etc (where there are lots of jobs for you). Read books, practice your tech skill at home, move around early on in your career to get max experience - dont focus on $ in the first 5 years. Hang around with more experienced guys who are 5 years infront of you, don't challenge them - listen and learn. Emulate them.
