Thank you Shimmy. Indeed, it is the brand that's matter.

Been selling T-Shirts since 1997. I paid tens of thousands in the first few months, of UK pounds ,to just get started in those days. In-house design equipment, embroidery or printing equipment, premises and staff....You don't need any of that now, and that's a good thing if you are entering the market today....The information is absolutely correct in this video, and no, Shimmy is not "sponsering my message"....Don't listen to anyone selling the idea of "passive income", put the work in, be confident in yourself, and you stand a far better chance of succeeding than those that don't...Happy New, to everyone :-)

Love this. I think the key is to combine good niches and good products. Same niche but different products can make significant differences. Branding is a plus.

Launching my Shopify store soon. I have 53 items uploaded so far. Trying my best to get closer to 100. Takes so long lol I have about 1500 designs in my Etsy store and have been doing that for 2.5 years. My Etsy shop has a variety of niches but I picked a niche for my Shopify based on what seems ti do best for me there. Hoping I chose well. 😅 I’m determined to make 2025 the year of Shopify success. Watching all the videos to make sure I have some idea of what the heck I’m doing…😬

So I've been watching your videos for a while and just this morning launched my first POD store / paid AD. There is one thing that I wasn't prepared for in the slightest. The SPAM. Minutes after my first ever AD was live I have half of India telling me it isn't getting enough reach and how they can fix my issues. and as the Day goes on Multiple messages from people who love my designs, and want to sell them on their site. How do I make myself unapproachable to spam, but not customers?
@shimmymorris12 күн бұрын
You can add words that get filtered out and auto delete comments in your Facebook page setting. It sounds like you’re getting quite a lot though. That’s not normal. Make sure you’re targeting U.S.A. it could be the cheaper traffic that’s spamming your page

The thing you seem to miss though is that doing a t-shirt store that sells cycle t-shirts is not a brand. A brand would not be selling many different styles - are you honestly ensuring people on the street can recognize your brand by having an ownable and distinct look to all your products? I have not seen any evidence of that. When you do that, and also have a mission statement and brand values, then you’re on your way. But a niche store with a logo and great customer service is not a brand - not even close.
@shimmymorris1Күн бұрын
There are mission statements and brand values. When you start putting your logo on things it does become recognisable but I’m also not referring to someone recognising on the street. That takes a HUGE amount of publicity and brand awareness. This is just the start to building your brand. Building a brand takes an incredibly long time unless you have an insane marketing budget

Love the Mclaren and Mercedes F1 models behind. I totally agree with you, I have been trying to be successful in POD since 2020 and have been victim of shining object syndrome and wasting quite a lot of my money on “gurus” only to learn that they are no good in POD and will tell you the most basic things to do for $1000 and these courses themselves are their source of income. This year I plan to follow your instructions just on KZbin and focus on just selling t-shirts and spending more time on niche research and design. Let’s hope I break it in the market this time.

I hope it works out for you!!! Feel free to check out the 8 hour video I put out on KZbin going over the whole business. And yeaaaa the f1 Lego models are cool! There’s 2 more coming out in 2025!

Brands are built mostly via brand advertising, not by direct response ads aimed to get clicks and sales. All the brands we know and love have built their brands within culture and brand advertising. It’s possible, but way harder to do that with sales ads, a store-front, a logo, and great customer experience - possible, but unlikely. That doesn’t mean your advice is bad - just that I have not seen anyone do it in POD yet.
@shimmymorris12 күн бұрын
@@Onlylovelystuff I totally hear that. Brand awareness ads are very important and come in down the line. But I’ve seen it many many times without the use of them. It’s possible but as you say it’s hard. As it should be.
@shimmymorris12 күн бұрын
@@Onlylovelystuff you still do all the regular brand awareness stuff but also do cpc ads to get sales

I always wonder how those that claim to be millionaires are expecting us to believe they are now hanging out on youtube vs investing that money. Everyone screams they make six figures. Well that could mean they just hit 100,000 but now let's break that down after marketing fees, materials if needed and shipping or other cost if using a POD service to handle all that for you. Just because they hold up their phone showing big money stats doesn't mean it's their stats.

@@agl5132 some people make videos because they enjoy it. I’ve been making videos since I was 13. I’ve always loved it. I did it before I was successful and I’d do it if I was a billionaire. It’s fun. And it’s important to have enjoyment with your work. It’s not one or the other. You can invest and make videos…

Should we listen to you @Shimmy Morris alone? Life doesn't revolve around t-shirts. If we want to enter into a niche, we will. I think It's irresponsible of you to lead people into selling t-shirts only.
@shimmymorris1Күн бұрын
You don’t have to listen to me at all… I’m simply relating the data that is out there and sharing what’s proven to work. If you want to sell bath mats or mugs, go for it. I don’t think it’s irresponsible to tell people to sell the most popular item… the item that actually gets consistent sales. Also you’ve said if you want to enter into a niche you will… I didn’t say not to, shirts aren’t a niche they’re a product line. Go into whatever niche you want. Good luck! And happy NY
