I've been following Luba long time, since she has started her internship at Airbnb, I saw she has tried many things in life, and she has mentioned a few of them in the videos. and Luba is following her passion all along her journey. I believe in life you should always seek discomfort, and keep trying new things until u like that and find out that you love doing that thing. And that could be your passion too. Keep it up Luba, I enjoy your videos.

I truly believe in that before ALL first you gotta learn how to be happy in a present moment, it is not that easy as it sounds, be in a present moment and have a deephappiness in a present moment - able to enjoy small things!!! People say: “when I will move to London, or US, or Spain, or Dubai, or any other dream place he/she will be happy and then able to live happily - Not true! She will come back to the original state of feeling. Same thing with finding a PASSION - person might get a dream job, or be close to his actual passion, do cool things - all is nothing in a long term - person will come back to the original state! We need to learn to be happy in a present as life it is - then on top of that we keep moving on 👍

Having also been on both sides of passion vs. curiosity in just about every aspect of life, I completely agree with the idea of not following this notion of passion much. My only general critique, from relationships, careers, to many other aspects of life, is to fully understand the practical consequences of the paths you choose. Namely, it’s important to know to at least some degree the more firm practical result you’re looking for, e.g., paid off house, long-term marriage, x amount invested in index funds by y age, etc. There’s so many ways to get to this, but these things should still be at the back of your mind to some degree so you don’t permanently lock yourself out of them, and you definitely can. Sadly these aren’t emphasized much in western culture, so it slips passed far too many. You don’t want to rob yourself of short-term opportunities, but you also don’t want to lock yourself out of what typically requires long-term investment/commitment. This is true with pretty much every aspect of life, from careers, to relationships, to spirituality, etc. Tl;dr: Curiosity opens doors, direction walks you through them, habits/persistence/commitment gets the results. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m in love with results.

Steve Jobs had no idea how to write software or design microprocessors. That’s proof he wasn’t passionate about computers. He was passionate about getting rich to secure freedom for himself, his family and his descendants. And he was wise enough to realize: 1) the best way to get rich is to figure out what millions of people want to buy and become the best at providing whatever that is 2) Americans get offended at the idea of “getting rich” being an acceptable life goal, so make up some fluff about following passion to get good publicity.

Love the comparison to “the one”, I never thought about it that way and it’s 100% true. There are many people or passions we could pursue that are n% compatible with us, some more, some less. We should continuously explore, though I do feel at some point you have to commit to one in order to get the full experience out of it

I agree with you. Following your passion requires hell lot of work, so as to start a company you need lot resources. So blindly following passion is stupid, you need a concrete job to succeed in setting up a company. And yes, it's westernised a lot.

Interestingly I found my latest passion (computer science) by doing. I wrote simple programs for fun when I studied in the physics faculty and that's how it all started and I left physics faculty and join CS faculty!

Before covid I had a job and a lifestyle, which was my real passion. Sometimes I was crying from excitement doing my job. And yes, I was getting paid for that. So - YES, this kind of happiness DOES EXIST. BUT it took from me almost 30 years to get there. And it was "scanning" and "testing" of very different fields, and from the wealthy side it was very NOT effective. So, I suggest the following question for the next video: "HARD WORK or PASSION?", because for me this question is still open.

Ultimately it's our biological makeup interacting with our physical and social environment that generates the needed biochemicals for our perception of 'passion' towards something. And as you say, this is pretty adaptable when it comes to deciding what we're passionate about.

I agree passions change, but I do believe in having a mission in life to give you purpose. Choosing a general area that is related to your mission and changing roles within it has kept me mostly on track. I've always loved the environment and started working in health and safety and waste management, now designing PV systems and coding. Totally different skills but same area. Although I also like baking a lot haha and those can be hobbies. I've struggled the most when the area I work in is not well played globally tho

Basically, you do things right here and right now, if and only if you are are getting better at them and simultaneously figure out way(s) of making enough dough. In any other case, move on or you will be in for a surprise down the line.
