My 67 FLH came with an electric start and a kicker. It's definitely a good idea to know how to use that kicker just in case. My dad has rode in a MC for over 50 years and I learned about kick starting bikes when the majority of the bikes club members were riding back in the day were kick start only

If the carburetor is an e then it is the wrist action and decelerator pump enriching the intake charge however the end result looks good

Good job. When your ready to turn on the ignition It also helps to be on the compression stroke of the rear cylinder as the front fires shortly after which helps you start the bike easier. As opposed to starting on the front cylinder as there is several more degrees of crank rotation before the rear fires.

Yea it’s a hard start if I don’t get the rear cylinder. Normally I don’t kick it through as many times as this vid, but I kept rolling past the easy starting point lol

On my old iron head,I always had to slow stroke the kick start 3x with the throttle wide open…. Not pumping it, just wide open for all 3 slow kicks with the ignition switch off. Then turn it on and on the next real kick with no throttle she exploded to life every time. I’m on a 114 Milwaukee 8 today….. phuck those kick started bikes😂!!!! Keep the history alive for those of us who left it behind! Be safe on the road.

Only 4 were technically primer, after that I was trying to get it at TDC. Usually takes 3 to 4 twists as I kick it through.

My God the details on that bike! Love love all the copper tubing the copper air cleaner cover. Is that a copper tranny oil cooler and level or is that for your engine oil? Looks like you have an oil cooler up front (smart where you get the most cool air) but your setup like your custom taillight on that cut down fender is just one of so many classy yet bad the the bone details. I'm gonna stop shoveling compliments on you about your ride, as I'm pretty sure you get a lot of people talking about all the beautiful things in your vids besides your bike. Especially if they're already that close to you then you're probably emotionally already over your head. It's like my last pit I got him as a rescue dog at 8 and 1/2 years old he lived till he was 17 and 3/4 but he was so emotional 100 plus pounds of him 🤣. Had pits for over 25 years. They repeatedly SAVED my life as I was previously addicted to heroin for almost 20 years have almost 2 years clean. Went through 4 1/2 years of counseling and thankfully I micro and macrodose now and have used iboga and Ayahuasca therapy because it is tremendously great for my soul. Now even my 82-year-old mom grows her own shrooms😄. Real medicine just like sitting between a V Twin. Please give your dad a hug as he is a great man and your mom (who was probably a heartbreaker in her early years and still probably a legend in her own right) a hug and tell her that you love her next time you see them. My Triumph needed two priming kicks. Any more would flood it and you’d never get it started. 250 two stroke noted for hard starting. Ignition off choke on kick twice. Choke off, ignition on, kick and off it would go. Too many kicks on choke and it would never start.
