As a full timer, I have a checklist I go thru, generally the day before traveling. 1. Tires on all vehicles (right, truck, Jeep that the wife drives). Check for condition and pressure. Set to max cold as indicated on sticker. 2. Clean all jacks/ levelers with WD-40. Lube with Silicone spray. Inspect for leaks. 3. Clean hitch pin, apply fresh grease to pin. Inspect Teflon plate for condition. 4. Check fluid levels on truck, Jeep. 5. Inspect trailer suspension. 6. Check spare tires for condition and pressure. 7. The evening before, check weather along route and at destination.

Try using Borax Dry Detergent while the unit is not in use. Use a small tray or bowl, it can be glass or plastic (ours are plastic). Pour about 2-3 tablespoons in the tray. Strategically place the trays, we use 4 in our Alliance Paradigm, along window sills or base boards. Kind of keep them out of the way so they don't get stepped on or tipped over. I also place one near the entrance. I figure if a spider watches me use the door it'll figure it can too. 😁 It seems to work pretty good for us. After we put the camper back up my wife likes to use a spritzer and Spritz a tiny bit of peppermint essential oil, 1 spritz only, otherwise it'll run, in the upper corners of the window frames and the upper corners of the slide outs. We don't find many dead bugs (or live ones either) when we prep the RV for the next use.

Checklists are always good for repetitive tasks-it’s easy for the brain to turn off at the worst time. Can’t wait to see the truck hookup and its features, and how the towing experience is.

Great job, JD! I would like to add, if you store your Kureg in the RV, that you drain all of the water out of it, because bugs love water. Ask me how I know that!

QQQ Do you have a favorite Security System? I am a Disabled Veteran and have finally been able to upgrade from staying with friends and Family to having a home of my own (2003 Bounder) for fulltime use. PTSD has me constantly concerned about security, which for a RV is a double issue. 1) the obvious security issue while parked of being able to see and record whoever is around your vehicle/home and 2) Having proof of any possible accident/issue while driving. I am not convinced yet of the need for an interior camera, but at least 4 outside seems very prudent. Related to that, my backup camera is b/w only and seems the camera is worn out (although the audio is awesome). Should I upgrade/replace the backup camera or does it become redundant with a 4 camera 'security/dashcam' system? Also, I am slowly trying to buy tools since I now have both a reason and place to keep them. Are you making your old Dewalt tools available for sale as you replace them? I think I can trust you took good care of them so it would save money from buying new, plus you have the experience of what tools are handy specifically for a RV and what is a waste of money for only maintaining a RV (vs tools more suited for homeowners ect. Thanks

JD, which model and what year is your fifth wheel? One more question would you think a F350 DRW with a 7.3 Godzilla engine be enough to tow a 15,000 lb fifth wheel rv? I’ve looked at a F450 but not sure if I can gat one anytime soon. Thanks if you can help me I’ve watched almost all videos and can’t really get a good answer to this question.

What brand of bug spray are you using on your trailer? Are you spraying the inside and outside and underneath as well? I use Bifen IT and it does leave a residue, especially on the windows.

What happens if you don't put the correct psi in the tires? Weather, it's too much or too little.

If you need to be that concerned about spiders when you park the rv put all your towels and linens in good quality sealing totes

You'll still get them.

1 additional question, you are putting 115 PSI in your tires, I was greasing bearing today and have Goodyear E Rated tires and Max PSI on the tire is 80?

What happened to the surveyor/travel trailer/half ton content? Maybe you could dedicate one day a week to this? It only 14.285%. Have you even been camping in the surveyor yet?
