I've owned four RV campers. #1: Airstream (my current/last camper). #2: Jayco (solid w/minimal issues). #3: Coachman (solid, but the electrical is sketchy and prone to faults/spaghetti wiring). #4: Coleman (don't go near them... junk). Good luck out there...

unfortunately, in my opinion, after owning several travel trailers I think the best way to go for most trouble-free experience is with a fiberglass trailer. They are pricey they cost a lot but they will last you and your children. If you choose to go that route unfortunately most people don’t realize the work that has to be done as far as upkeep goes to your average RV

I had a F orest River Wolf Pup that was a fantastic camper until it got destroyed in a storm. The only problem I had with it was the cheap Chinese 12 volt DC fridge. When it was new, it worked great, and I was amazed at it. But it failed after about 2 seasons, so I replaced it with a 110 volt AC fridge and had no problems. Really enjoyed it until it was destroyed.

I have a 2019 Taylor Coach travel trailer built one at time here in Ontario, Canada. No assembly line bad quality here. This is our 2nd Taylor Coach. Excellent customer service before and after too. I can’t say enough about this family run business since 1967.

We bought a used 22 FT. 2019 used Heartland Sundance in early 2020 by a dealer in Surprise AZ. It had everything we wanted in a camper and checked all the boxes and was a pre-covid camper. I'm glad we bought it when we did and only had one issue and that was the toilet. It took us a while to figure it out but to make a long story short the camper came with a basic Dominic toilet, and we quickly noticed something was wrong. Because of the design it wouldn't flush away contents properly, so we bought a Heford toilet and what a difference that made. We are happy campers!

We bought our only RV in 2017 when we went full-time. Lance has been great for us. We've been full-time since 2017, same rig. We are HORRIBLE at maintenance and have had minimal issues. Replaced the water pump last year. That's about it. We have a spongy spot in the bathroom that's getting addressed soon. We even still have 3 of the 4 original tires after traveling from the PNW to the mexico border and back a few times worth. She's showing her age but for 2 adults and 3 small dogs it's worked.

buy a grand design..from a reputable dealer (not camper world or the like). we've had our grand design 17mke for 3 years zero issues..And if you have an issue GD will stand behind their product and make it right..still won't be fun fixing repairs but one FR customer had a frame crack well snap at the hitch and wouldn't do Anything about it..blamed the frame maker..frame maker blamed FR consumer Never got any resolution and had to trash the trailer. Grand Design All the Way..

We have a 2007 Jayco Jay flight 30’ bunkhouse. We have not had any issues with it except over all the years some of the wall paper has wrinkled in a few areas. Probably due to temperature changes. Come spring I may loosen the trim and take a hair dryer to it and see about smoothing it out and tacking it back down. We have had a lot of good memories with our kids and grandkids …. Inside still looks close to new as I always did a deep clean at the end of the season. We just resealed the roof for maintenance protection for the first time. Never had any leaks or problems. Absolutely have loved our camper and hope to get many more years of making memories. I think when Covid hit everything went down in quality and the pride they used to take in building Rv’s or anything really. But the price of things sadly have sky rocketed. $$$$$$.

Our 2022 NuCamp T@B 400 has been a rolling nightmare. Brakes have come apart, parts routinely fall off, fans break, and the bathroom door hinges have had to be replaced twice. Dealer support is hit or miss., mostly miss and NuCamp support non existent. I will never buy another NuCamp product again.

My Coleman 16fbs has great build quality. It actually just survived 100mph winds in Milton. The next morning, my right was dry as a bone. No water got in at all and the winds didn't affect it. My Coachman pop up I had before the Coleman was awful. From the dealership the front storage hatch leaked and rotted out.

You got the Heartland issues bang on. My 2022 Shadow cruiser has cracks and mouldings flying off because roof not attached properly The trailer was water saturated after my first month. Dealer in Ottawa ( Ottawa camping) laughed and said it’s not our fault, we didn’t build it. My insurance paid for another and we got a Surveyor Legend. Great trailer …. No issues Remember If you buy a trailer brand new, that sat a year or 2, that if could be rotten from water intrusion if dealer didn’t check seals each 3 months The manufacturer only guarantees roof at dealer for first 3 months. Its dealer responsibility to inspect and seal roof after 3 months

That’s probably why dealers want you to buy the rv before they will fix it because the warranty doesn’t kick in till purchased especially on a new left over , those dealers aren’t going to eat it even if it was their neglect

I have a 2020 Gulfstream vintage cruiser 19ERD. When I purchase this trailer I knew it was a low in model and was going to need some upgrades which I have done. Overall and very happy with the build quality. People have to remember that trailers are earthquakes going down the road and will need some TLC to maintain them.

I have a 1994 Coleman Rio Grande popup trailer. Very bare bones when it comes to features (no furnace, no toilet, no fridge, hand pump faucet). I'm probably the 5th owner. I'm constantly fixing stuff on it, BUT it's 30 years old so that's expected. It also does the job it's designed to do: keep us off the ground and out of inclement weather. We've gone all over the west from the Valley of Fire, to the northern redwoods with it. Recently my wife and I have been looking at hard sides, and were impressed by the 17b. I have friends that own them and love them. With the 2025 models, I can fit in the shower, they have a proper furnace, and a tankless water heater. We're sold on getting one very soon.

After 3 years our Forest River Salem has been good. We did have one water leak but I fixed that and the roof was cut when it was built in the factory. Instead of giving up our camper for probably 6 months while they replace the roof I just keep an eye on it. I’ve been in the house and Commercial building business over 40 years so I fix everything myself.

Yea that’s why I couldn’t buy new like you said you have to take a second mortgage out, my neighbor bought brand new twice and good brands he had to go back to the dealer so many times for a 100k plus camper that’s unacceptable in my eyes I just say buy as cheap as you can and if your handy enough just fix the little things here and there when they come up just got me a 2016 all I had to do was fix a bunch of screws and little parts that broke or were missing and walla just like new

I bought a brand new 2016 Coachman Clipper 17 foot front queen by number 1 on your list "Forest River". From day one things were falling off the wall (mirror on back of bathroom door/ cornice over the windows) screw in the black water tank stuck in gate valve. No heat due to thumb nut not contacting electrical wires. Water leak from wrong size fitting connectors. But the leaf spring shackles hitting and denting the frame was a big problem. Had to replace leaf springs (heavier load carrying) add a shock absorber and mount the axle under the leaf springs and buy a two step entry way to compensate for the added height of the trailer. They make lots of crap in this industry. Hope they are able to do the Hokey-Pokey and turn themselves around.

We bought a 2023 Coachman Clipper built by Forest River, our first travel trailer. Our biggest complaint is the crummy industry standard door latch and the poor workmanship. We had an under sink leak caused by them not tightening the trap joint flange. Both easily fixed. I have renovated mobile homes built in the 70-80’s and the construction methods and quality are the same.

We have a 2020 Keystone Outback 221UMD, and overall it has been very good for us. Yes it had a few things that were issues but all have been small. Biggest issue I have had was the Furrion fridge stopped working right before a 2 week trip. Bad circuit board. All manufacturers have issues! These units get best up going down the road. We have owned 2 Keystone RVs over the years. Both over all were good.

I had a job for a while working on cranes. One customer made RVs. I was pretty shocked and intrigued how they do it. They have high turnover and pay little. Not to mention the fact there is a countdown clock and everyone is pressured to get their portion done. It just encourages them to miss mistakes or to intentionally overlook them.

My wife and I are going to buy an off-grid travel travel and it's looking like we're going to buy a Rockwood Geo Pro made by Forest River. Not that they're perfect but they seem to have fewer complaints than other travel trailers. Fortunately I'm an electrician, shadetree mechanic, and quite a handyman so I know what I'm getting into and am fully prepared to have to do a lot of repairs on my own.

Look into Outdoors RV. After walking so many rvs you can tell the quality plus they build there own heavy duty frames and have full suspension systems on the wheels and axles. They are built to boondock and get into remote areas. 80-100 gallons of fresh water in all models.

We just bought a 2024 keystone passport gt 2600FK. Where do I start? Barn door on bathroom was dragging floor, had to cut 3/8" off if it. Range vent cover flew off on ride home from dealer, electrical outlet went through wall when wife plugged in stick vacuum, turn signal wires were reversed, widow broke due to improper install, trim molding and cabinet door latches and drawer glides falling off. We paid 40k for a fixer upper

@@Thecampingloop luckily keystone is going to reimburse me for the window glass and a electric box cover, they replaced range vent cover, and for my trouble the dealer gave me a maxxair fan that was taken out of a new RV to add an AC unit. Going to a good local dealer matters. Much better and faster service than a certain super national dealer I bought my 2018 StarCraft from.

We bought a used 2022 Tiffin Wayfarer RW in January. None of the drawer slides had been installed correctly so I had to remove all of them and re-install them properly. On our first trip the door larch failed and the door would not open. That was an expensive repair. At the same time the solenoid that charges the batteries when the truck's engine is running failed. A wall panel was cut 1/2 inch too long and the fasteners in the middle failed so the middle bulged out. I had to remove it trim off the excess 1.2 inch and reinstall. None of the drawers would remain closed - I had to install extra latches. The integrated backup/blind spot cameras have a "Known issue" where they stop working of the dash heats up from sunlight. The motor for the powered murphy bed failed (why even make a powered murphy bed?) and the RV tech said that the issue is that the motor is only rated for a dynamic load of 55 pounds. The bathroom door was hung improperly - I had to remove and reinstall it. On the last trip the door jammed in the frame. The RV tech said that the problem was that they used screws that were too short for the application when it was made. I got it back from the RV repair people on Monday. Taking a 3-day trip tomorrow. I'm just wondering what's going to break this time.

Our Heartland has problems with Main Cabin lights and a bad seal between the better bathroom toilet and black tank, causing a soft bathroom floor and are not covered by any warranty. Just getting the floor partial repaired and toilet seal replaced cost us $1000.00. There are a few other issues, but I can understand as normal as I will repair them. An improvement would not use the long staples to hold up the structure of the bed. Would I recommend this brand is a partial yes.

Got the 2025 Forest River NOBO 20.3 with beast mode suspension. FR actually seemed to listen to the reviews on the 2023/24 models from those who own them! All the small problems pointed out were recified - cabinets, pop-up power tower, added another solar panel (2x200). We upped to a 100wLithium, and it has kept the fridge cold, lights on, for days. Glad we got the "beast mode suspension" because of the over the road pot holes, etc, are what cause so much damage. Took it on a pretty sketchy road out in backwoods of Northern VA, and nothing inside moved - pretty impressive. It is akin to the same type of suspension found on tanks/Strykers, etc - platform/cabin is stable and doesn't absorb much if any shock. I am seeing many youtuber r/v videos in which people are getting the 4 wheel independent suspension installed to combat that - pretty expensive after-market. Get it initially. It is worth the extra money imho. The tires are high quality off-road and not ones on "axle-ed" models. So far, only issue is the lock on the main entry glass door. We tried to change it to a keyless entry, but the glass doesn't allow for it. We replaced the locks with new key ones after calling tech support. Make sure you operate the door with lock and key several times when picking it up from the dealer as some of the screws may be loose. By operate, I mean slam it shut...lol. Storage doors are no problem - just that one. You will have to purchase the Maxx Air vents for the roof fan (dealer had them and installed them) and a telescoping ladder as this model does not have the affixed ladder. GOD Bless

Keystone RV basically makes everything today. I was shocked when we were RV shopping and while overwhelmed with all the "name brands" I noticed that almost all of the big names says Keystone RV Muncie, Indiana on them somewhere inconspicuous lol. Btw I am highly insulted that Jayco TT is on the list lol. We had a 2024 Jayco JayFlight slx 174bh and liked it so much we upgraded to a 2025 Jayco JayFlight 284bhs. Super nice imo and the small one seemed pretty high quality too.

The main problem is quality of workmanship. When the factory’s main goal is production volume, corners will be cut, and quality control will be left to the buyer. There are a few manufactures who produce a high quality RV. The best place to look is the factory floor. Are the workers well trained, well supervised, and take pride in their work?

I have had 5 campers. I think I can say, in our case's,...Lippert and or Furrion have been mostly the guilty parties. And yes the quality has gone straight down hill from our first one in 2015.

We bought a new 2021 Coachman Apex 256RBSS built in 2020. Other than the fridge not working from the start, which was replaced under warranty in 2 weeks. Our camper has been okay. We are afraid to upgrade and get stuck with a something with tons of problems.

I bought a 2023 Winnebago Micro Minnie and have had nothing with problems with it. Everything that could leak has: sink, toilet, and outside shower! I had to replace the water pump this year bc it leaked. I would NOT RECOMMEND WINNEBAGO!

We have 20 fr v21 rogue vengeance toy. Not only love floorplan but impressed floor plan as king bedrm w bureau, bath fits 2.5 and has even a queen private loft + queen dinette and still eats 5-6. And it's easy on propane and all this open floor with ton of in & out storage...did I mention it has a unique vertical shed? So no more digging stuff out it's all on tiered shelves! with king bed and 2 queens and all that in & out storage it still only 30 ft, 30 amp That said fr put cheap domestic stuff in so: awning material rips in 2 years, awning motor burned up in 2 years, furion oven won't go to temp in just 40 months. Water pump won't seal. Cable TV has wiring issue so never worked. And the AC is soooo loud! Oh and huge fix is fr used Particle board wrapped in vinyl wall paper for kitchen counters. Are they nuts in high water work areas of bath & kitchen counters but gave matching solid surface cut board. Wait.. What? It likely cost same to spwcially print vinyl wallpaper to wrap counters that had to match cut boardatch cut board and then didn't even wrap ot under sink so even kept dry and caulked it came up before 2 years old!...so in just first 4 years we need to replace counter tops, $600 furion oven, if the hood fan light burns out like oven fr informs we need to buy a $180 range hood cause light bulb not changeable as built in like oven thermometer. Whoever heard of a light bulb that don't or oven thermometer that don't come out? Now we learn our jack sofas padding already sagging. We had our Lance midsize pu camper 20 years and used full time last three from Colorado to Florida. The awnings aren't even faded. The oven still works and upholstery still solid even after pet slept on it every night. The only thing Fr had was this fantastic v21 floorplan but then they discounted it also. Our 20+ year old Lance was a winner but Lance disc it also. Like 200 different brands all made by approx 7 manufs. All costing 37k- 70k so you cycle through and continuously finance. They ruining industry with their game of slot machines all bilking costs, then have nerve to hike park rates on retirees who built this industry. There's no American pride or reputation, instead just greedy stick it to customers. The products is just a way to get inhouse finance fees.

sadly, you have Forrest river, Crossroads, and THOR industries which make 90% out there there use to be more separation but all about the same now. the best advice is a GOOD inspection before you even leave the lot and an honest dealer that actually pdis THOURLY!! ( sad so many dont these days) best advice is find a good dealer and also be comfortable doing minor repairs yourself

I wouldn't give you crap for any of these trailers made in the last 3-4 years. We have owned a 1996 Jayco Eagle and a 2013 Jayco Eagle (both bought used) and had no problems with either of them. Solidly built so new doesn't mean necessarily mean good these days!

I bought a 32 ft KZ Connect travel trailer, new, a few years ago. It is a terrible trailer. Furnace stopped working short after I bought it, water system leaks, TV doesn't work. Never will I buy another one of these!

2021 Jayco 24RL….38 issues at new and over 150 hours of my labor to fix. These are built by people with ZERO skills or pride. I’ve had eight trailers and my 2004 Weekend Warrior was by far the best and my 2017 Pacific Coach works 5th wheel, the worst.

You are not taking into consideration the volume vs number of complaints. It only makes sense that Forest River would have a high number of complaints--they make and sell considerably more units that almost every other manufacturer. Any analysis of this type should look at the ratio of complaints to unitls sold.

I have a 2022 265 rlsJayco Jay flight . So far only issue was rear door not closing easy. But we keep it seasonal in Java Ny so with not towing it stuff does not get bounced around and come loose. Dealer was useless trying to get the door fixed. All they did was take a hammer to it freaking moroons

First, to start my comment, we previously had a 1989 26' Wilderness bumper trailer, and it was far superior above what I have to talk about below, and while there were some age related issues, they were nothing like I have with my Forest River! I have a 2016 F/R Saber 5th wheel trailer. I has been nothing but, JUNK,! JUNK,! JUNK,!!! It has 3 slides, 2 street side, and 1 curb side, and all have required work. The forward axil was bent at the street side wheel. The tire mounted on that spindle, wore out after only 5000 miles of use. The axil assembly required complete replacement after less than 5000 mile of use. It has 2 recliners, a full size refrigerator, the microwave, and oven/range mounted on the street side slide. When the slide is retracted for travel, the inboard edge of the floor of the slid is not supported. The slide floor is 1" OSB material and does not contact the house floor and is unsupported when retracted, it looks to be about 5/8" above the house floor. All of this overhead weight causes the OSB to flex, (think, like a trampoline), when traveling over highways. The refrigerator is about mid center on the slide, and being full size, it's heavy. The refer was originally retained in it's enclosure by 2 small clips, 1 each, on the top side, left & right edges and it's own gravity weight. Not having the slide floor supported and resting on the house floor, allowed the OSB to flex enough that the movement of the refer shredded the clips from woodwork they were screwed into, and also shredded the screws that held the enclosure, (top & bottom edges), away from the top and bottom of the slide structure. The shredding destroyed the associated woodwork and required total repair. One thing I learned from this little adventure,,,the refrigerator is larger than any doorways, the only way to remove the refer from the rv, is to remove a slide first! Shortly after our first trip, I saw water flowing across the floor from the kitchen sink. The P-trap was not attached to the drain coming from the sink and allowed the sink water to flow out wherever it wanted to flow. I can offer more to bitch about, but, to answer your first question, yes, I do! I have replaced, 1 each, of the skis on the 2 house slides in addition to my comments about the street slide, (I have more about that, street side, rear, and most likely now, inboard corners). The, street side, bedroom slide does not run on skis. It has 3 rollers to carry it in & out. When retracted, or extended, the rollers have to support a significate amount of weight. The slide retracts, and extends, only so far enough that the rollers are, again, supporting an OSB floor, and the weight that these 3 rollers have to support has caused the OSB to crush/collapse onto the rollers. I have added 1/8" steel runways for the rollers to help carry the slide and support it's weight. For what's it's worth,,. ALL of the cost of repair has been my expense, and workmanship, I'm a retired tool & die maker and I do have a few ideas about how things work. Everything was beyond warranty time. Because life got in our way, this trailer sat, unused, for the first year, in our driveway, (it do a good job of keeping the driveway clean underneath it), and the warranty expired! It's my problem now,, a,, big expensive,, problem!!!! Hell(O) will freeze over twice before I will ever have a Forest River Recreational(?) Vehicle in my driveway again!!!!!!!!!!!! (Unless, of course, your 'recreation', is fixing things)!

I have a Coleman 17b, 2021 I think it’s actually smaller inside than our Coleman Tent was🤣. I wish there was a ten ft awning, I larger fridge, get rid of the microwave, a sliding window above the sink, a/c on the roof, a tiny sink in the bathroom. The bed facing out into the camper so both people can get out without disturbing the other. More storage, replace fireplace with a heater. Not use cheap, fake wood on the floor molding. Yikes why’d I sell my tent

Disappointed to see Keystone on the list particularly because the photo example you used was one from the Cougar line. That was one of the two I had finally narrowed my search down two. It does bring rise to two questions. Many manufacturers seem to have taken a dive during the Covid/supply chain scare years. Are you seeing any kind of a quality recovery? Second, many manufacturers have multiple lines. Are you seeing more of these problems in the budget lines or is it a common thread throughout all their products?

My 2021 Heartland bighorn 3375ss is nothing but a piece of crap. New camper had a rotten slide floor. Take 4 months for Heartland to take responsibility. Air Conditioner are also a piece of crap. There is no such thing as "workmenship" at Heartland.
