Are you coming to Phnom Penh.? Saw your poster on a tub tub. Lots of places to play here.

Actually I'm in Phnom Penh now! But I find that the scene is still not well developed here; there are plenty of places to play, esp. for rock + folk, many but venues paying less now than I was getting in 2017. I don't know if this is due to number of musicians or economic factors or both. Jazz scene here very small compared to regional neighbors, venue owners generally not willing to risk. There are venues I've been frequenting as paid customer (food) for several years, but still haven't been offered a show with reasonable pay. In short, this is a good place to develop a craft and 'live life', but better for Jazz players around here to be regional. Even so, I stick around because I like the Cambodia and I think things will generally pick up, maybe venues will start taking chances a bit more as pre Covid days. I also do a significant amount of remote production and collaboration which renders many of the above mentioned factors moot. If you have a favorite venue who may host me and a team of players, am open to it!
