Come along with the boys as they desensitize LJ our new molly mule some more and work with Navajo our Navajo reservation mule we got from the farm on route 66. mules are very different from horses you have to be a mules friend then they will trust you.

Thanks for sharing! Fine young men you are raising. Johnny and Z are learning so much about themselves while doing such a good job working and calming the horses and mules. Johnny getting bucked off showed that. So glad he wasn't hurt. Know it didn't feel good but what a trooper he is. After his Dad checked him and he felt assured ....he went right back to Navajo and continued. Tough kid . Love your channel! Thanks for sharing :)

@@nunya8843 So if someone gets bucked off, which is pretty much guaranteed in this world, you would like them to never get on again? Perhaps just live in a state of fear of the equine world? I do many riding lessons with people that had that happen as a child and the parent did not make them get back on right away. Equine world has its downfalls and can be dangerous even for experienced riders. However, so is getting in a car and going to the grocery store, heaven help us to get back alive and without covid.........

Johnny, I use to get seminary and cemetery confused all the time too. Thanks for following the words of the Church leaders. :) I thought for a moment Johnny broke his arm the way he came down. I know getting knocked in the jaw isn't fun, probably will have a bump there in the morning. Gotta have a lil cry, get it out of your system, make sure nothing is broken and back up "in the saddle". Z good job keeping calm and not reacting to a fall, if you hadn't the incident could have gone another way.

Johnny you did fantastic job. Don't feel bad. I to came off my horse. The first time in 45 years. Wasn't anyone's fault. I used the wrong blanket. And I didnt follow my gut feeling. Any got up on my old mare after not riding for awhile. When out for a trail ride, had a great time, walking of course out of shape for much more. Will anyway went to get out off the saddle got my left leg halfway over and whoops the saddle started to slide. In slow motion down I went. Flat on my back. Reyn standing there looking at me like stupid what you down there for. Banged my head of course just a small headache and sore shoulders. Got up with her help and took the saddle off. The material the saddle blanket/pad was thick like batten. I usually dont use it only on thin or high wither horses for more protection. But anyway has embarrass in myself. Lesson for me follow my gut. And I didnt get back on. But tomorrow I am sore shoulders and must likely the headache will come to. Great Job To All.

Johnny did great getting back up after getting smacked in the face with that mule head! It gave me Deja Vu to when my daughter got bucked off her mare, riding her like a rodeo champ until the mare threw her head back and caught my daughter across the cheek bone, sending her flying. My daughter got right back on, and didn't cry until she got in the car to go home. She had a big shiner for the next week to show for her efforts.

I did this with my young teen son when we were training our american saddlebred horse to ride but of course i had him put on a riding helmet. PLEASE put a helmet on your kid especially when riding near metal railing panels. My BIL's calm older horse tripped or spooked and he was thrown into the metal railing and hit his head (he insisted on wearing only a cowboy hat no helmet) and he suffered brain damage and has never been the same since and life is now hard for the whole family. so preventable!!

My cousin had a small work mare had a white mule colt. When he's sister went in the pasture this colt ran up to her, and reread up put his front legs on her shoulders lick her face. That game had to be stopped fast. This past Monday morning a herd of elk of 70 ran through there hay field cross the highway and headed to the hills by our ranch. I hope my family filled there elk tags this year.

I agree with Melinda Ivey I’m glad Johnny is okay and that he is a good kid. Also that him and Z work well with animals together. My accident is almost like this but I was on a road with my friends and they were racing but I didn’t want to so I stayed behind.Well little did I know my horse is buddy sour, it didn’t end well. I ended up with a broken leg and arm because I was on a tall and very strong draft horse that had stepped on me. Again I’m glad he’s okay cause getting thrown off is dangerous sometimes depends on when and where it happens. I’m subscribing to y’all cause I can give y’all support. Be safe!

What does floating the teeth mean? Enjoy watching your family work with the horses, mules and donkeys. I never understood that they had two "sides" until watching your videos. Was always told to get up on one side. Never thought about why. Enjoy understanding why you do certain training methods. Would love to know more of the "why's ". Thanks for sharing what you are doing.

Floating Teeth means when a horse or mule teeth get uneven which causes chewing to be painful. There are jagged edges which form on their teeth sometimes called caps. These have to be taken off by filling them of. But you have to make sure they are level with each side so chewing is even. It also maintains good health in the digestive system.

Two sides is like us. Some people only works with the right or left side more. And some work with both sides. People like myself that uses both sides equally. Like sweeping the floor. I do it with my right and my left side. One day with the right tomorrow with the left. Same as writing. When working with each equines the think and see differently because of their eye set. When you always mount on his left side all the time horses miles will not stand quietly while you try to mount on his opposite side. By teaching him to except both sides is benefits when riding along trails with lots off hills and drops. This way you can get on anywhere on narrow passages. I myself was riding along a narrow path with a steep hill on one side and a deep ditch on my left and had to dismount on the right. And the horse had no clue this was ok and she panic and fell into the ditch. I was ok and she was fine. I climbed down into the ditch and walk for 2 hr till we found a good enough grade to get back up to the trail. So teaching equines to respond to both side is important. Same with people.
