Would you see in the future that Malaysia will be scooter, skateboard and cycling friendly? I remember skateboarding to uni everyday in Sydney, Australia.
@melvintanchannel Жыл бұрын
There is always hope 😂 but honestly... Malaysia is very safe to do those activities is just the roads and terrain and weather makes it hard to skate scoot or cycle to work... And offices have no bath facility. I remember I use to cycle and even roller blade to school too but it was dangerous because it was 8km away and hilly terrain and I have to skate on roads shared by traffic... I guess really depends if u r willing to rough it out... To be same with other countries... Not in the near future because Malaysia have some things to resolve... But the Malaysian people are courteous by default so the people are ready.
@100toeface11 күн бұрын
The solution is bicycle lanes and ebikes with very good mid drive torque sensors. This lets you maintain the cycling feeling while providing assist so you don't overheat on the uphill.

@imleesh Жыл бұрын
Hi Zijeat, it is mandatory to still bring your IC because there is always the chance that a law emforcement officer can ask you to show your IC. It is then an offence when you cannot produce your IC.

Arent cyclists considered pedestrians? In other words, cant they be used on footpaths because bicycles are not considered vehicles, and the article only references a law regarding vehicles? Edit: After doing my own research, im not sure what to think. According to Malaysia Road Traffic Rules, 1959: Vehicles arent allowed on footpaths. The only exceptions are vehicles for disabled people, prams for babies, or any toy vehicle driven by a child under 12. According to ROAD TRANSPORT ACT 1987 ―vehicle means a structure capable of moving or being moved or used for the conveyance of any person or thing and which maintains contact with the ground when in motion; That sounds like a done deal right? But I have a few problems with this. 1. This means that things like travel suitcases, wheelbarrows, or anything that moves but maintains in contact with the ground is considered a vehicle. So are all tourists who walk around with their travel suitcases essentially criminals? What about the auntie that is just bringing home groceries in her pull bag? 2. These 2 statements come from entirely different documents. The Malaysia Road Traffic Rules, 1959 document doesnt specify what are vehicles. And while Road Transport Act 1987 does specify what are vehicles, they do not explicitly deny bicycles access to footpaths. 3. I havent been to malaysia in a long time, but Im pretty damn sure there are a ton of people who just ride their bikes everywhere and anywhere, including footpaths. In fact, Ive heard that bicycles can go on footpaths from more people, than Ive heard that bicycles cant, this video and the article the video references being the only time Ive heard that bicycles are not allowed on footpaths. 4. Most places in the world allow bicycles on footpaths. Id find it surprising that Malaysia would be one of the few countries that are so cautious of traffic safety, considering that 99% of the people on the road arent.
@melvintanchannel7 ай бұрын
Maybe becuz bicycles has wheels so considered as vehicles... LOL...
@brandonkoh83617 ай бұрын
@@melvintanchannel By that logic, a wheelbarrow is considered a vehicle. Also by that logic, skateboards, wheelchairs, inline skates are not allowed to be on footpaths since theyre considered vehicles.

What would be against the law is a fixie bike used on the road and if it doesn’t have brakes at the front and rear wheel. So if you ride the fixie brakeless and on the road, yah, this would break the law under the Road Traffic Rules.
