Love this Ray!! My old man is 78 and picked up the weights 18 months ago as he was worried he was losing a lot of muscle . He’s put on 7 kgs now ( from 68-75 kgs) and has pulled a 135 kg deadlift !. So proud of him given he has never been in the gym before all this The gym has helped me and I am a fairly late starter 2 and half years ago ( I’m 48 now) . I do it for my mental health mainly but I am determined to get 227.5 kg deadlift by the time I’m 50 😊.

Ray I listened to a podcast the other day. It was on the subject the strongest man in the world, he was a Ukrainean and a calvery man in the army in 1914 . He and the horse we're blown up by a shell, he carried the horse back on (his) back to his own lines. They were that poor when a teenager his dad got him a job with the railroad. He nicked lead seals from train carriages and melted them down in a mold to make a pair of Dumbells to train with. He could have been exicuted for this crime because of war time law's. He was that dedicated to getting fit he was prepared to die for his training goal to be his best given the circumstances. Well worth the watch Ray, a great message. Have a nice day pal,👊☘️

Ray. The exercises you did, are the main building blocks for size and strength, so I do believe ya.. My joints are destroyed, so can't do heavy weights anymore, that doesn't stop me from training though. Great advice to get people up and training. Never any good at squats or deads, I use to be more powerful on chest and shoulders, triceps. What a unit you were back then, was hoping you would put the before and after pictures... Great vid Ray...

In the 70s when i was about 5 my dad started getting me to bring the coal in i have no idea why but i started putting coal in the bucket and curling it before i brought it in. I dont think i knew what a gym was and my father never went to a gym. 54 years later i still weight train its bizzare i think but like you say its just in some people to start lifting things dont know why.
