UPDATE (August 2023): First, I'm very glad things have improved so much since making this video. Tacoma's are readily available as Toyota clears out the remaining 3rd gens. You should not pay above MSRP under any circumstances! ALSO... I do not recommend doing business with Bud Clary in Yakima, WA any longer. Since making this video they have done some really shady things to me, my parents and a few friends... attempting to sell OEM parts way above their normal price as well as over-quoting booked time on maintenance and installs. Furthermore, they now no longer show MSRP of new vehicles on their website. They also have stopped making the build sheet (window sticker) available to review as well. This really sucks, but I likely will not give them any of my future business.

NOTHING has improved. IF ANYTHING it has all gotten WAY WORSE. They have trucks, and they still won't even give you the time of day. It is absolute hell trying to get a Tacoma or any other Toyota.
@eramsted2 жыл бұрын
A year ago, I paid MSRP on an army green DCLB TRD sport. I had been watching Toyota's web site and looking at available trucks. I made dozens of phone calls and all the incoming trucks were already spoken for. I managed to find the exact truck I wanted 6 hours away. When I called them, they told me it had arrived the day before and the guy that had placed a hold on it had changed his mind when he saw the army green paint. I asked what they'd give me for my trade, a Chevy Silverado LTZ with 80,000 miles. I was blown away. It was an offer I couldn't refuse! I gave them a down payment over the phone, drove the 6 hours the next morning, made the deal at MSRP with no pressure or extras, and drove home. I'm very happy with the truck and the deal!! The army green color gets lots of compliments.

I picked up my '22 Tacoma TRD Sport yesterday. It was ordered on July 5th based on a build I did on Toyota's website. Paid MSRP (where I live the local Toyota dealer is the only dealership that hasn't tacked on 2-5k above sticker price) and got 16k on a Jeep Renegade trade in (2016, 23.5k miles, paid 21k for it, had the title). Other than the wait, which I was told would be middle/late August I really can't complain. FYI...anyone interested in a Jeep Renegade don't waste your time. It's built in Italy, has a 1300 cc motor with an anemic "turbo charger" which was burning a quart of oil about every 1000 miles...buyer beware I didn't have any problem getting the standard transmission...my sales rep just submitted the build sheet and presto

I have a 2021 TRD off road in cement, almost exactly as I ordered. Bought it in March 2021 for about $1500 under msrp from mark miller Toyota in Salt Lake City. Quick story about an extended warranty. On my previous tacoma I had the platinum 10 year/125k warranty. At about 100k miles I was in Tahoe when my my engine started smoking and I smelled burnt rubber. I figured out it was something with the fans/ac/defrost. Turns out the ac pulley seized up and a bunch of metal fragments ended up in the piping. Warranty covered it and the bill was a bit over 2k. Later on I had a ball joint replaces through the warranty as well. I bought a new tacoma recently and went ahead and ponied up for the extended warranty. If I change my mind I can get a pro rated refund. I've always skipped out on the extended, but that experience has taught me that even reliable vehicles break.

The Tacoma technically uses a moonroof and not a sunroof. Try it out sometimes and sit in one at a dealership. I sat in both and the moonroof on the Tacoma doesn't seem to take up any headroom that the regular version does. If anything, if you were to open the inner shade, you'd have a little extra headroom at that spot than with it closed.

Thought we had a deal on a Black trd pro , came back to settle the deal, they put a $10k additional dealer markup on it. I told them to “”F”” off and would never return. They said but all “” dealers do that. Haha

Hi I ordered my Tacoma truck in March 23. I’m still waiting for it. I did have to compromise with the sales person as he called me two months later to say that my Tacoma in Blue crush color was not available and to give him other color

I haul fuel for a living. All brands of gas are the same except for the *less than 2% of additives (of the selected brand ie: Chevron, Mobile) for that gas. One gas isn't better than the other. All gas ,no matter the brand, are stored in the same large tanks for holding and the additives are added when we select the brand we are picking up. The additives are mixed at the same time the tanker is filling up. There is one exception and that is any gas station (stick to big gas stations ie: Wawa and NOT mom and pop stores) that sell Rec 90 / Ethanol Free gas. This is the best gas for any vehicle since it is straight gas w/o Ethanol. You get better gas mileage and less wear and tear on engine parts. Ethanol dilutes the gas and wrecks havoc on piston rings and vital engine parts. Furthermore, Rec 90 / Ethanol free is pumped out of the Premium tanks. In another words, you are actually buying 93/Premium gas when you purchase Ethanol Free or Rec 90. I own a Taco and refuse to put anything else in my truck after learning the secrets of my trade. Loyalty to brand name is a waste of money. Be loyal to your truck and purchase what is best, straight gas.
@JasonExplainsThings2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate your insight. Yeah ethanol free is difficult to find around here. I think one station in town has it.

I really wanted to get lunar rock but up here in Canada i'd have to get leather seats, sunroof and blindspot monitoring which didn't justify an extra $3000 for me so magnetic grey metallic it is!

I got so lucky. I wanted the Lunar Rock the TRD offroad and I found it about 100 miles away. at the price point that I was willing to spend. I then found a location that I could test drive.When I got there it was the package I wanted. But it was a color that was not on my Raidar. I actually loved it more. Then I found out that they were my client and I got it without any dealer fees it was cheaper than the orginal one I found. I ended up driving home with what I wanted.

The biggest RIPOFF in the Tacoma equation is the exploitative wages Toyota pays to the Mexican workforce building this truck. Our 2010 Tacoma was made by middle class American workers in California who made enough money to buy a Tacoma of their own. Today we are expected to pay sky high, First World prices when Toyota's wage bill for Tacoma production is 10% of what it once was. No Bueno!

Haha wow! This sounds pretty familiar. I just put a deposit down on a Tacoma and sold my 2015 GTI. Dealer low-balled me so I listed it private and a used dealership bought it from me for like 2K over the low-ball offer. (was sad to see the GTI go) Luckily the dealership is selling the Tacoma at MSRP! Your truck looks good. I should hopefully get mine next week.

I got my 16 SR5 from Tacoma. Had several different headaches with their maintenance department. Scratched/chipped my aftermarket wheels. Once they didn't torque my wheels enough and one fell off (driving slowly at the time thankfully, but had been on I-5 just before at highway speeds). They towed the truck, repaired the damage and replaced the wheels, but I never really trusted their techs after that.

Trying to order an army green off-road next month!
@rs3tuber4252 жыл бұрын
I tried to get that same model , color and trim that you have(army green, with LED lights) etc and they couldn't guarantee me the vehicle. they couldn't give me a definite date of build nor it was feasible to change a army green with regular projector headlights to LED lights. It was going to be months. I could only settle with just the only color Tacoma that had the LED lights and Technology package and that has been taking 3 months already. It is much much harder to get what you want nowdays. I purchased a Tacoma TRD OFF Road in January of 2020 and my problem back then was to pick a color, the dealer had 5 whites, 7 grays, 3 reds, 4 silvers, 6 blacks, 3 cement grays(I am giving you an example), In reality there were probably about 25 Tacomas parked and it was hard to pick a color. Now with the money on hand/financing you have to wait and you aren't guarantee. The other local dealer in town is even worst, they have a $2100 "factory/dealer" package that you can't negotiate it out, they are charging $499 for the tint, $899 for a ceramic coating(they say), clear door guards($399) and something else totaling $2100 on top of the asking price. Your video is informative but you can't (CAN NOT) negotiate with some dealers because they don't have to sell it to you since there are 20 people in line for the same car with money in hand. Go to desert Toyota or precision toyota in Tucson and you will see what I mean.

@JasonExplainsThings2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I ran into that as well. I tried to get a manual for 5 months and eventually gave up. There were other things I wanted as well, but was told it's impossible. I'd suggest giving it some thought on what your priorities are... what you can live with/without, what you could add on your own later, etc. For instance I wanted the trail camera system, but was told that was impossible without getting a bunch of stuff I didn't want (even though you can select it by itself on the website). So I went without it but added my own later. Same with the stereo... I plan on upgrading it later since getting a JBL system wasn't in the cards.

Nice Tacoma bro first thing you should do is either 4:88 gears or 5:29 gears. Do this before getting bigger tires. Any tire size between 30 inch diameter and 33inch diameter 4:88 gears. 34's to 35's 5:29 gears. Next get the Hypertech Inline Speedometer calibrator. Next get a ECU Tune there are several companies out there doing Tunes for the 3rd Gen Tacoma's
