Here in LA, the LAPD advise meeting in the parking lot of a local police station. Get there a little early, and let the officer manning the front desk know you're there. Keeps everyone honest. There have been cases here, where someone meeting a seller in a public lot like Walmart have been held up by the seller. The buyer didn't get the bike and lost thousands in cash. Not wanting to meet at a police station is a major red flag.

hope you never reach in UK to the point we have here in south america, where is really common to get killed when going to buy a car, motorbike, bike, whatever. Here, FB Marketplace is full of scammers, killers and whatever the worst there is, awaiting for some "customer" to fall in their trap. Past week a police student got shot when helping a friend to get his motorbike. Thieves then approached in a car and started shooting.
