Doctors kept recommending I see a chiropractor for my neck and back issues, but I was too scared to go. Turns out, that fear probably saved me. I had a calcified slipped disc cutting into my spinal cord that didn’t show up on an X-ray, only on an MRI. Even then, it just looked like a slight herniation. When the neurosurgeon removed it, he told me if I had fallen or gotten a neck or back adjustment, it could have severed my spinal cord. It is important to trust your instincts.
@ambersather74603 ай бұрын
Yup chiropractors have hurt SOOO many people in similar situations. The things they do without even knowing of any preexisting issues...it's just irresponsible as fuck

I used to work in orthopaedics, almost every doctor I worked with told me horror stories from chiropractors, the worst being someone became a quadriplegic. I'd never go to one ever.
@zotz91843 ай бұрын
I'm glad you trusted your gut! Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the only ones out there that has good things to say about my chiropractor. Maybe I just lucky in picking him. All I know is that after a few appointments, I was limber again. I'd go back once a month when I feel myself starting to tense a bit, but sometimes I can go longer. Oh god, and this one time I'd pulled my back. Been dealing with that pain for a couple of months (was in Georgia and my 'practor is in Delaware), but in one visit, he managed to work it out. Put me on a chair that sort of gentle stretched my back by...I don't remember, rocking up and down? All I know if the pain was finally gone. And without all the goddamn dramatic cracking, twisting, and crunching lol I'm not saying anyone with bad experiences and all is wrong. In fact, that proves to me that you have to be INSANELY selective and critical about who you go to. ...definitely avoid those who post on social media haha

5:40 I absolutely spoiled a bull rotten before. I loved on it from the time it was a tiny little cow puppy (shut up), and by the time it was a grown, 2000 lb, bull, he would get so happy to see me come outside that he would run up to the fence and wait for me to come pet him. He would put his big head on my shoulder and moo. I could go in the pen with him all day, all night... But if a man came to the fence when I was in the pen with him, he would try to attack the man. The bull was very protective of me. I joked that I had the biggest guard dog on the block, but I wasn't exactly wrong.

So I have to push back on the chiropractor! I always thought it was Quacker as well until I screwed up my neck when I fell down the steps after falling over a suitcase. I couldn’t look left or right and I talked to a nurse that I trusted dearly and she said you need to go to a chiropractor. It took about five weeks to get it completely readjusted two weeks. I had to go three times a week the rest. It was just one, but within two months my neck is completely back to normal. I also made sure not to go to a chiropractor who believed chiropractic medicine. Here’s everything because it’s not true. But he understood and felt where I needed to be adjusted.

my chiropractor is an MD, they HAVE TO BE in my country. he orders tests at the hospital, can administer injections, and hand out Rx. he is far more competent than my OBGYN was. And he is quite happy to send his patents off to other specialist if he is out of his depth. He would NEVER twist, pull or crack without a full X-ray or MRI

Chiropractors address joints, massage therapists address muscles, and physical therapists address form and movement. A couple adjustments or massages might feel good, but they're like a candy bar and unrealistic long-term. You want body pain fixed? See a physical therapist, they do/refer specific massages/adjustments while also teaching targeted exercises to teach your body to move the right way and build strength in weak points.

In my state, to legally practic Chiropractic services, you need a DC degree (Doctor of Chriopractic, so they are technically doctors), which requires an additional four years of schooling after your undergraduate. During this education, they take a lot of courses on the muscular and skeletal systems. I've gone to several, had my neck cracked, back cracked, hips cracked. The adujsutments relieve gasses in the joints, which is what the popping sound is, and it some case, it can immedialty alieveite or improve symptoms, but the underlying cause is not fixed, so you're going to need to keep going back unless you make changes (fix your posture, do stretches, and exercises). To me, that's the scam: they want you to keep coming back when really, you could fix a lot of the problem yourself with exercises and stretches. You know how good it feels to crack your back when you really need to crack your back? That's what a chiropractic adjustment is, but it's cracking deep parts you haven't been able to crack because they are so tight or injured.
@rocks73533 ай бұрын
As a chiro, i provide the exercises and stretches to help along with the chiro adjustment. If exercise alone would fix this then tell me why physical therapists have been trying to learn to adjust the spine 😅

Go to a real doctor, get an MRI or Cat scan done. Chiropractors only treat symptons, barely, not actual issues. That is why you keep having to go back to whatever con-artists is scamming you. This charlatan will keep treating your sympton, your condition will go on untreated and it will eventually become worse.

@@rocks7353 Right. Having frequent spine issues is not normal. You have to get an image of the problem so the doctors can recommend an actual treatment for the condition causing the pain. I think going to a chiropractor only works for certain people and for specific problems. For example I had many issues with my ankles and then we figured out that some bones in my feet weren’t moving so I would walk in a way that would hurt my ankles. My chiropractor had to crack my toes, feet, and ankles to help adjust the bones so he could get them to move better before fully adjusting them. I also get severe headaches and migraines for days at a time and it’s usually caused by knots at the base of my skull which my chiropractor helps alleviate them by massaging the knots out.
