*4-6 EXPLAINED* Episode 4 In this episode the computer starts to sing for no reason and it didn’t even answer there question. Also some reason it doesn’t like the red one (my personal favorite.) In the end his friends are stuck brainwashed in the computer but he actually escapes the reality he was already in to get away from the computer and his mind blows and he wakes up in real life. Episode 5 They notice he is gone but don’t know he is gone then quickly the food starts to distract them. The red guy calls them (which is why he is leaving a phone both in the end.) The duck answers then wakes up in a hospital. The foods explain “good ones stay” and “rude ones leave.” Which they were talking about them. The duck knows what’s going on sense he answers the red person call and tries to escape but then gets canned and killed Episode 6 The yellow one is sad his friends are gone. During the song we see the 2 teachers from the first 2 episodes on the wall. Later in real life the red guy gets depressed his life isn’t the same. Soon the yellow ones dad from the second episode see him then he gets back into the bizarre world. Then he finds out he was behind there torture the whole time. When red pulls the plug it was a good thing. They all became there favorite colors from the first episode and everything is better and nothing can go wrong.

I see a lot of people recommending MatPat's videos. Inside A Mind has made a video with a competing theory, It's called We Were Wrong About Don't Hug Me I'm Scared It's well-thought-out and researched although it's longer runtime may disqualify it from being reaction worthy at 26mins long. Despite its 1.1mil views, I don't see it being talked about as much as MatPat's video but it's definitely worth a watch. I'd recommend anyone who hasn't seen it, give it a go.

I started watching this when the "time" one came out (was like 16 at the time) and let me tell you..... being on the fandom as they were coming out and seeing ppl try to make sense of what was happening only to have the next video drop with something that derailed the theories was a ride itself

I have my theory for this show! Theory: the reason every episode is set on the 19th of June is because the characters are stuck in a time loop. Whenever a new character is introduced they’re created to teach the 3 main characters something new. Whenever the characters beliefs aren’t what the educational song and character says for them to do, the red guy, yellow boy, and duck man, die, but are all safe and sound in the next episode. In episode 2 we met, the yellow guys father whose name is Roy. We’ll get back to Roy later. In episode 4 with the computer, the red guy is the only one who “dies”. He “dies” because he realized he and his friends are stuck in a time loop, and he escaped. same thing happens to the duck guy in episode 5 who also realizes everything’s bizzare and strange. Also the person who kept calling them in episode 5 was the Red Guy in the human world, trying to warn his friends of the time loop and constant deaths. At the end of the 6th episode, the red guy unplugged the machine to reset the time loop, which is why we have different colored versions of the same characters and it’s now the 20th of June. So, I believe that the person who was the mastermind behind this whole conflict was Roy. If you go back and watch the episodes after episode 2, Roy appears in every episode, except for episode one. Either he’s in the background or he’s watching the 3 main characters. That machine that creates a new educational character was controlled by Roy. So this would make Roy the main villain of the series and the cause of all the creepy scenes

The red guy wasn’t stuck in the digital computer world, he was the one who went against the simulation and escaped all of the weirdness, and in the 5th one, the phone call was from the red guy, but every time the duck answered the phone, he was closer to getting killed because he was going against the simulation. At the end, you see the red guy walk away from a phone booth. The 7th one actually already got released at the Sundance Festival, and it got leaked on KZbin. They are also gonna make a TV series!

Man I’d love to see you react to the 2 film theory episodes on it now so all the details you may have missed will be highlighted, along with extra research outside of the episodes and a whole believable plot line 😁 I would advise tho if you watch it and remember things or wanna add your own theories/comments (which I’d love to see anyway), maybe just pause it briefly and rewind it so you don’t miss any of the details that help everything make sense and give you that “wowwww” moment at the end when you can truly appreciate the series for how good it is, instead of just being a weird creepy puppet show. Watch season 5, episode 36 of The Amazing World of Gumball. The episode is called "The Puppets". The creators of Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared teamed up with the creators of The Amazing World Of Gumball to create an episode with the use of puppets, and 3 characters much like Red Guy, Yellow Guy, and Duck. It's not as scary as this since it's meant for kids, but it's still fairly creepy compared to the rest of The Amazing World of Gumball.
