neither were the looney tunes. old school cartoons were for adults because movie theaters were new and they could pay for tickets. kids watched those cartoons too for decades after but cartoons didn't become for kids until the late 60s. family guy was a gen x product aimed for 13+. the simpsons were the same and they had a kids meal at burger king.

Originally it was but it was in Cartoon Network when Seth McFarland was working with the company at the time he pitched the idea. But instead it was only Peter & Brian as a main character but later got picked up by FOX and made it for adults.
@AnonymousJuggalo
@AnonymousJuggalo 3 жыл бұрын
@@NativeSkeleton that is factually incorrect. It can be proven by interviews with Seth Mcfarlane admitting it was never a family show nor was it ever meant to be. That's just a bold face lie. So either you're lying or whoever told you this dumb shit lied to you and you were completely gullible enough to believe that stupidity.
@fuchainsa
@fuchainsa 3 жыл бұрын
@@AnonymousJuggalo Sorry man but you’re kinda making yourself seem like the stupid one. He’s not totally inaccurate. The original cartoon short that inspired “Family Guy” that Seth made was called “Larry And Steve”. It was featured on the Cartoon Network anthology series “What A Cartoon” which also featured other shorts soon to be very popular shows like “The Power puff Girls” (originally The Whoopass Girls), Cow N Chicken etc. I even saw Larry And Steve myself on that show but it was to intelligent and mature show for kids to understand. There was a lot of adult innuendos but they were genius! Thats why Fox probably pitched him a more show targeted towards adults. Do just a little more research next time bruv, and try not to insult people’s intelligence when their comment was never hostile in the first place. Not classy at all.

Kenny, I'm only part Irish, and I can tell you that even here in the U.S., we've been given grief forever (to be fair, so have most other folks). I was fortunate enough to visit Ireland about fifteen years ago with my father and three of my siblings. You know what none of my Irish friends, or the travel shows tell you? Along many roads, big and small, there are hedges. So, instead of seeing the beautiful land and historic cottages, we saw a lot of: Hedge, hedge, hedge, Bin!!, hedge, hedge...." LOL. We went many places, and stayed a few nights at a lovely house in Rearcross. I hope to visit again some day. I'd like to experience some long walks. Happy Holidays!

I have a sticker on my side back window that says, "Attention Officer, this car records all interactions. We will respect you, we expect the same respect from you." I'm sure all it does is let the officer know I am recording them. But anything that ads any extra safety for my kids is a plus to me.

@David Osborne Good advice when dealing with good cops, which is most of the time. But, since cops are human, there are going to be a small percent that aren't good cops, there's going to be another small percent who have what I like to call, "bouncer syndrome", which is basically, when all you deal with every day are assclowns and problems, so you start to treat everyone like they are too, and see normal frustration as evidence of an attitude, so their suspicions are self fulfilling. Then there are going to be the undertraned, the badly trained, and those with the wrong temperament for the job. You add on top of all that, the anxiety and stress that comes with their job, especially pulling someone over, and walking blindly up to your car, the place where a lot of them die every year, and you have the potential for a bad experience. If there's anything that can be done to make the situation less likely to go somewhere it doesn't need too, then we should support that. Like body cameras on all officers when dealing with the public. And if a little reminder on the window that says, I don't view you as the enemy, but I can't wait to find out if you're the bad cop, so I am doing everything in my power to protect myself. That's not unreasonable, and I would think that police would welcome that kind of interaction, knowing that people worried about their lives aren't as rational as people who feel safe. But, for now, the statement "Don't do anything illegal, and you don't have shit to worry about" isn't just stupid, it's been proven wrong over and over. No one should fear for their lives when they get pulled over by the people who are given their authority to be the good guys in our society. The good guys aren't afraid to be monitored, or recorded. Because "If the aren't doing anything wrong, they don't have anything to worry about." Right? We have to clean up our police forces, get them better trained, give them the ability to do their jobs safely, and with options to take people to jail, not put them in the ground. We have to clean our corrupt government up too. And the media. We have some issues that have to be addressed, because we are being played. They have us divided into teams, fighting each other, so they can keep their hands in our pockets. We are all on the same team, half the country can't win while the other half loses. We can choose to win or lose, but what ever we decide, we will do it together.

@Melinda Pelfrey Yeah I guess, tho their lies aren't exactly rebuked by the photos and stories that come from both sides. I forgot we live in a perfect country and everything the goverment does is right and true and our army is the most disciplined. Like our high standards for the police.

Seth McFarlane really does his research on EVERYTHING. Like someone said: there's no filter. Family Guy has no boundaries. Honestly, this comedy is mad prominent during the 70s and 80s if anything.

Peter pointing at black men saying "its your fault we have so much violence in this country" was clipped without the context of the joke. He got all wrapped up in feminism and heard there was gonna be a "Million Man March" and was addressing the crowd of men, nit because of their color. BUT the audience would be the only one in on that joke. That clip clipped out the joke amd did some CNN FOXNews type clipping

It's a sad, sad day when a random KZbin commenter has more integrity than our news media and can make an unbiased statement about said media's uncontrollable bias...on both sides. I'm sure you have a bias, but you were capable of making an intellectually honest statement outside of that bias. I miss the days when the media was capable of the same. This is the reason for the huge divide. Neither side even tries to be honest anymore or give the other side the benefit of the doubt that they have good intentions, even if their approach is wildly different.
@fuchainsa
@fuchainsa 3 жыл бұрын
@@garrettpapit I mean the funny thing is....that out of context actually adds on to the joke! They think Peter is doing that cuz he’s racist BUT so do the black men in the show since they have no idea where Peter’s outburst came from. They all just see some White guy blaming them for the problems in America most black men get blamed for! So it kinda works! Haha!
