I think it will sit 500 Dollar for couple of reasons: 1. Pull rate is super low 2. Is a Pikachu, being the most iconic pokemon 3. The art is not crazy bad for it to go down in value 4. SV need a big hit card like SWSH, and people believe this is it

This is certainly not the first time we’ve seen the latest chase card from the newest set reach silly prices… It’s a great card but you’ve gotta assume there will be reprints for this set eventually, and the price will reset.

Awesome video, Rob. I think the lack of available booster packs is affecting the price on Pikachu, as well. Everyone is ripping through their initial allocations of stock but distributors don't have any more to sell. The price could rise up over $600 in the next 4-6 weeks because TPC is printing so many other things right now that no one has Surging Sparks to open. I'm not sure how many listings for Pikachu will be available and that could really cause fomo. This set just launched and it already needs a restock/reprint.

I think this Pikachu will settle down and sit around 250-275. On the other hand, I do think over time the Milotic EX SIR will gradually go up just because the card looks really beautiful.

Investing in singles is always a high risk endevour. If you want safe, buy booster boxes. Booster Boxes = Global Index Fund (boring, but high chance to go up). Singles = Penny Stock (High risk, high reward).

Not sure why it would crash with hard pull rates and a booster box increasing in price. Supply and demand. Even with people waiting and saving for prismatic, surging will create a new baseline for the next hype sets. (eveelution, rocket, and partner pokemon) The desire for pokemon is bringing in new money and new people.

Honestly, Hype will die and it'll drop but not much. It's Pikachu the most popular pokemon ever. It's also from a set that has generated so much hype for the past couple of sets. It's gonna retain a high price, but I do think it's gonna drop a tad after it's climax.

I actually pulled it on my second BB box. Not pulled a chase card since magicarp. It looks like a ten, it smells like a ten it most likely will be a 9. I think this card will go up in value until Jan. A 600USD mark is not impossible. Folks are saving for the new set and won’t open as much. The moment eevee set is out this card will see a 30% drop. People will be chasing those leafeons and umbreons and will need capital. I suspect the drop will be seen weeks before release. (Just my few cents on the matter) :)

the pikachu SIR will probably have a floor of 200+ to 300 - rationale is that there will be people who will buy them instantly at 200+. no way price it will drop to 200+ in the next few months i think, since its holiday season. Can’t say for sure in the year to come, but I think there’s a possibility it may drop for a while, due to focus being on the eevees and rocket etc. and money being spent there instead

I think itll drop as the set right after it is Prismastic which completely sells out in hours everytime its restocked and it hasnt even released yet. Plus the cards in Prismatic just look better. Pull rates for the Pikachu are as high as Greninja but Surging is to new the thing about Twilight is it hasnt really had full on reprints.. But, I dont see pokemon company not printing a good amount of Surging

I think the only thing carrying the Pikachu card is runaway hype. All the telltale signs are there. It's not a particularly special looking card, and most people don't even know it's pull rates, so I don't think that's a factor either. Give it until Christmas when Prismatic Evolution is days away and it'll plummet.

I honestly don't think it's going to properly crash... but the difference between this and Greninja is even though Greninja has only gone up, Pikachu came flying out of the gates at at least 2x the price of Greninja. I think it will pull back a bit a decent amount at least for a while, and if it doesn't, oh well. There are far safer, more reliable, and likely more profitable plays that a card thats 3x the value of the booster box on launch weekend. It's wild how high the price is going, it reeks of FOMO. I'm ready to be wrong, but really not worth the risk imo. It's a solid long term play, but I don't like the current prices at all.

Out of all the cards in Surging Sparks the Pikachu is definitely not my favorite. The SIR Milotic and SIR Alolan Exeggutor are probably my favorite cards from the set and I even prefer the Hydreigon and the Latias above the Pikachu. The Pikachu is a cool card, but I don't think I could get myself to pay over $200 for it. That said, I think the Pikachu will hold roughly steady and will be between $400-500 at Christmas. I don't think it'll stay over the $500 mark but I can't see it dropping below the $400 mark at this point. At least not for a few months.

People are getting crazy with the psa 10 prices and the raw prices. The card is selling as a 10 for 3k multiple times. Currently tcg says the lowest is $730. This is craziness. Guys don’t fomo. I think this card is going to drop when prismatic evolution comes out. Will it drop a lot, I am not sure, but I think a raw copy would go back to 300 within a year.

Really interesting video! I only started getting back into the trading cards a couple of weeks ago, which is the first time since 2000. 0___0. Feeling old now. What I have faced with my return is a huge wall of noise that is really offputting and confusing and I have no idea what I am doing. I don't remember this when I was 10, we just ripped the cards open and hoped would celebrate if we pulled a squirle. This video has really helped cut through alot of that noise and clearly presented the history and trends of the cards. Seems like I have arrived at a particularly noisy but exciting time with Surging Sparks

I thought it was a full art when I initially saw it. It's fine not my favorite from the set. I just don't like how the market is changing to what it is. I'm 36 I have 4 kids and can't watch discord for bot drops. Every time I see them it's already sold out.
