Don't Let Motion Sickness Derail Your Travels
Want to have a great vacation but worried about feeling queasy and puckish?
In this video I'll share about interesting ways to tackle motion sickness
Watch this video till the end to find out some homeopathic medicines which have worked well with my patients and a few simple remedies along with some behavioral changes to make your travel pleasurable.
Motion sickness or kinetosis, is a common condition that can occur when the movement that you see does not match the movement that you feel. This can cause symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.
Here are my top Homeopathic recommendations along with the symptoms -
Cocculus 30 this medication will give great results when you experience nausea and vertigo in whatever type of travel situation whether bus, car or a flight. The nausea is so much so that even sight and smell of food causes nausea
Borax 30 can be used when you experience symptoms when you are headed in a downward motion i.e when headed downhill.
Tabbacum 200 can be taken when you experience palpitations along with nausea and feel better by closing your eyes or by cold air blowing on your face
Dosage would be 3 times- 12 hours prior to the trip, at the beginning of the trip and during the trip, one dose would be 2 drops directly on your tongue.
Here are a few tips that may help reduce motion sickness while traveling:
-Be in the moment! enjoy your trip! as this will take your mind of the problem and reduce the intensity of sickness
-Reading or looking at screens can make motion sickness worse, as it can cause your brain to receive conflicting information about your body's movement. Instead, try looking at the horizon or a stationary object.
- Take the driver's seat it would be fun to drive and takes your mind of the sickness, but if you are a co passenger go grab that window seat, also avoid sitting in the direction opposite to you are travelling.
- If you are traveling by car, try to take breaks every hour or so to stretch your legs and get some fresh air. If you are traveling by plane, train, or boat, try to get up and walk around the cabin or go outside on the deck if possible.
- As the saying goes eat light - travel light, Strong odors and certain types of of spicy and greasy foods can make motion sickness worse, so try and avoid them
- Sucking on to Those childhood sour candy or ginger candies and ice Lolly can still help! Alternatively, you can also have peppermint gum
