youtube, cd and radio, and mp3 compresses music in a way that makes everything blend together in a way that fundamentally changes the way the sound comes across to my ears, I like audiophile vinyl, and needle drops, sacd, dvd-a and blu-ray audio. HDtracks has some okay stuff. I wish this album would have been put out on SACD. You get audio in 2.0 stereo a lot closer to the way it was meant to sound, you get a clearer separation of different instruments and the vocals, and it all has an airy quality that is just absent on cd and radio. This album isn't on any digital hd format except for needle drops, so I remastered a 24bit 192khz needle drop (vinyl rip) and removed the crackle and hiss, and had to apply some gain, and now I'm pretty happy with the results. Certainly sounds a lot different than this version. Still, this album deserves to be on an official hd format! At least the Blu Ray of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is coming out, and it's supposed to have a brand new remastered stereo version at 24/192 and yet also the old sacd 5.1 version. Al though I consider 5.1 more of a novelty, still, that's what I'm talking about. Too bad this album gets overlooked. They should at least release a Greatest Hits Blu-Ray, geesh!
