Archie Williams brought me here. That audition in Agt is one hell of a kind. Makes me realize I don't need to complain of what I'm going through right now. Man, celebrating one birthday alone is nothing compared to 37 years behind bars. There's a saying "everyday above the ground is a good day", Archie made me feel that it's actually true.

For me he made it about a actual a hole. Sounds a bit wierd but that's what I think he was talking about . The special place between the legs that's been used and taken for a ride multiple times . Ignored at times . Opened beyond repair in a way that nothing that doesn't cause serious injury has any geek left. That's my interpretation thanks take care

It’s amazing how much of Elton’s music speaks to the heart. I was in a horrible 14 year marriage. I tried everything to get him to love me. I read and applied countless books on saving your marriage and wooing your husband who fell out of love. I kept dying inside, losing myself until I was just a faded colorless reflection of him. Then, he left me for a woman half our age, right when his son turned 18 so he no longer needed my financial help because he was paying substantial financial support. This song reminds me of my marriage. I’m Standing is the song that became my anthem to recover from my marriage.

Every time I hear this song, I think of seeing him in concert at Dodger Stadium in October 1975 (the Sunday show). He and the band did a very long version of this. It was still light when the song began, but by the time the song was ending, it was dark. As the last chord faded out, all the stadium lights came on. It was amazing, beautiful. Perfect.

Elton John has got to be the greatest Prefomer ever ! Everytime I listen too his music it takes me back in time, I grew up in the 70's back when we had no worries in the world ! Except 8000 miles away there way a war going on in Vietnam, I was too young to really wonder what those guys were going through ! Now I'm grown up and I know what they went through because I was a US Marine for sixteen years and did four tours in the Middle East, and I'm sure there were kids doing then same thing I did as a kid, the only difference is that I was there this time ! Elton and Bernie were a pair given to us by God (in my opinion) because all the songs like Your Song, Don't Let the Sun, Rocket Man, Daniel, Candle in the Wind and on and on all speak to the heart and touch us and bring back memories like few other songs do, but Elton/Bernie seemed to have a knack for doing it over and over, Someone Saved my Life, Funeral for a Friend, Levon....... He (they) gave us so much.

Because people are stupid and can't mind their own bussiness and like to impose their beliefs and values on others. My step father LOVED Elton and had a collection of his music. When Elton came out, my step dad broke his CDs and burned them. Like I said, not only bigoted but stupid,bc he could have sold them or given them to a friend. Suffice to say, he was a terrible husband and father as well...even to his biological kids.

i fekt the same. i didn't play the song myself but last night on thecway to get sone pizza dinner for my children? the song came on thecradio & itcwas suddenly full of meaning and it was so meamingful i wanted to cry too! but it was all i could do not to cry bec my real life son was in the car with me & i HABE to BE STRONG FOR MY 2 SONS & FOR MY DAUGHTER. THESE 3 ARE MY FIRST & MY ONLY REAL RESPONSIBILITIES IN LIFE. I MADE MY FIRST COMMITMENT TO TAKE CARE OF MY FIRST CHILD WHEN MY Daughter Was Born!!!!!!! I SAID To Myself THIS IS IT!!!! THIS TIME I HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANOTHER PERSON'S LIFE NOW! & I Said I CAN'T EVER BACK Down NOW OR GET OUT OF THIS ONE NOW! & I TOLD GOD NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS NOW???? I WILL Have TO DO MY VERY BEST NOT TO EVER LET MY CHILDREN DOWN! BECAUSE THEY Deserve A GOOD LIFE HERE & ONLY GOD CAN BLESS Them OR GIVE Them WHAT THEY REALLY Want OR FULFILL Their DREAMS IN THIS LIFE!!!! BUT MY JOB IS CLEAR & IF YOU BRING A CHILD INTO THIS WORLD? IT IS OUR CHRISTIAN DUTY & RESPONSIBILITY TO ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF THAT CHILD! & TO Care FOR ANY CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY CANNOT TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES HERE! & THEY DID NOT EVER ASK TO BE HERE! BUT WAS VERY LONELY WHENEVER I Brought MY FIRST CHILD INTO The World WITH ME!!! & WE HAD A HARD MOST DIFFICULT LIFE AHEAD OF Us Whenever SHE WAS BORN!! & I KNOW THAT GOD Wants US ALL TO CAREFULLY Consider WHAT YOU SEE & WHAT You HEAR & WHATEVER YOU DO HERE! & IT IS UP TO US Now!! & IT IS UP TO EACH OF IS To Decide WHO WE Want TO BE WITH BECAUSE THAT IS AN Adult PRIVILEGE - I Would NEVER TAKE Advantage OF ANY Adult PRIVILEGES HERE!!!! & ESPECIALLY NOT WITH ANY CHILDREN & NOT WITH MY Own CHILDREN!!! MY CHILDREN WERE BORN INTO AN INTOLERANT NEGATIVE SITUATION FROM WHICH THERE HAS Been NO POSSIBILITY OF ESCAPING IT YET!! !!!! NO WAY IS ANYONE Ever Going TO PIN Anything ON ME OR TO ME ANYMORE!!! & NOW Soon Very SOON I'm Going TO GET MORE THAN MY FREEDOM HERE!!! SOONEST EVER I KNOW I AM FIRST IN LINE FOR GOD NOW!!! & Some OF US ARE FIRST IN Line FOR GETTING GOD'S LOVE OR FINDING SOMETHING OR SOMEONE I BOTH TRULY LOVED AND WANTED IN TRUTH NOW!!!!!!! & because CHRISTIAN CHILDREN CAN'T DO Anything FOR THEMSELVES! & IT IS AFTER I HAD CHILDREN THAT I WAS FORCED TO CHANGE FROM BEING "IRRESPONSIBLE" TO "Responsible FOR ANOTHER LIFE HERE"!!! & YOU CAN NO LONGER BE JUST "CARELESS" OR "CAREFREE" AFTER Having CHILD!! & IT, THESE 3 CHILDREN?/THEY HAVE Been MY BIGGEST RESPONSIBILITY IN MY LIFETIME NOW!! BUT IN Contacting GOD? I Found THERE MIGHT Be A TERRIBLE TERRIFYING Scariest EVER TO ME AGAINST ME TYPE OF UNFAIR ADVANTAGE TYPE OF HORRIBLE HORRIFYING COMPETITION GOING ON NOW FOR EVEN Finding GOD!!! & Should WE ALL HAVE TO SEARCH High AND LOW SEARCH EVERYWHERE JUST TO BE FOND OF GOD IN OUR LIVES???? NO!!!! IF Your Prayers AREN'T BEING ANSWERED!! IF YOUR REQUESTS AREN'T Being HONORED??? IF PEOPLE ARE Treating YOU LIKE YOU ARE LESS THAN THEY ARE LESS THAN THEY ARE??? IF THEY ARE MISTREATING YOU & TREATING YOU LESS THAN WHAT YOU DESERVE??? IF THEY SEEM TO Consider US Lesser OR NOT EQUAL TO HOW THEY FEEL About THEMSELVES???? THEN TRUST YOUR Feelings!!! THEN YOU ARE "RIGHT" ABOUT IT!!! & BEING "RIGHT" ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS Here CAN SOMETIMES BE Very PAINFUL!! Painful AWARENESS IS MUCH BETTER FOR ANY OF YOU & IS BETTER FOR US Than APATHY OR CARELESSNESS OR DARKNESS FOR ANY OF US? & IF You EVER WANT TO EXPERIENCE JOY OR Greater Happiness IN Your LIFETIME?? THEN YOU MUST DO EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN ALL That IS ON YOUR OWN POWER TO DO HERE ABOUT IT!! BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN ANYTHING I WANTEX IR ANYONE I CAN LOVE YET IN MY LIFETIME NOQ OF TRYINH LOKKING & SEARCHONH FOR IT!! & YOU MUST NOT GIVE UP ALL HOPE FOR IT!! YOU MUST NOT LET YOUR DREAMS Die OR EVER LOSE THEM BECAUSE THERE ARE NOW EVIL DARK SPIRITS WHO SEEK TO Make FUN OF US FOR EVER FINDING LOVE HERE??? & WE HAVE ALL OF US GOT JUST ONE CHANCE HERE!! JUST ONE Chance TO LOVE!! & I DIDN'T WANT TO BLOW MINE!! PERSONALLY I DIDN'T WANT TO BLOW MY CHANCE AT HAVING A Good & A GREAT LIFE HERE!!! & A GOOD Lifetime, OR A GOOD LIFESTYLE!! & PLEASE Don't TAKE ANY Chances YOU Know YOU SHOULDN'T TAKE!!! & PIT IT IN QRITONG IF YOU LOVE SOMEONE!! & VERBALIZE IT!!! A LOT & LIVE & SHOW IT WHENEVER YOU LOVE SOMEONE BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE YOIR ONLY CHANVE FOR THE SLECIAL RONANTIC LOVING RELATIONSHIP THAT IS COVETED BY SO MANY OF US BECAUSE WE Didn't EVER GET IT!!! NOTEVEN ONE TIME!! NOT EVENTUALLY!!! MAYBE NOT Ever!!! & Surprisingly? NOT EVERYONE RECEIVED ANY LOVE HERE!!!! Much LESS ANY TRUE LOVE OR ROMANTIC LOVE HERE!!!!!! & I'm NOT Going TO Ever CLAIM ANY FALSE Love!!! & I'm Not GOING TO FAKE ANY LOVE HERE!!! I ONLY WANT REAL LOVE TOO JUST LIKE ANYBODY ELSE HERE!!!!! SO I STILL Don't HAVE IT!!!!!!!! SO PLEASE DON'T Throw Away Any GOOD PEOPLE YOU KNOW???? OR BE MEAN HARASSING OR HURTFUL OR CRUELTY Ever TO ANYONE YOU MIGHT LOVE OR WHOM YOU REALLY MIGHT LIKE HERE!!!!!!!! PLEASE MAKE THOSE DECISIONS CAREFULLY Now PLEASE!!!!!! & PLEASE Don't Hurt YOURSELVES HERE!!!! & PLEASE DOBT HURT ANYONE!!!!!! & NOT OB PURPOSE PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!!!! PLEASE THINK TWICE BEF HURTIBG SONEONE WHO MIGHT BE INNOCENT HERE!!!! & THE INNOCENT ARE INNOCENT OF ANY WRONGDOING WHATSOEVER HERE & God Protects THEM!!!!!! & I ALWAYS TRY TO REMEMBER THINGS MY Grandmother SAID To Me ABOUT People OR About ANY LOVE!!!!! BOTH OF MY Grandmothers WERE VERY STABLE Very GOOD PEOPLE & NO MATTER What You MAY Have HEARD DIFFERENTLY ABOUT Them???? YOU PROBABLY Heard IT Wrongly!! BECAUSE MY GRANDPARENTS WERE ALL 4 OF THEM WERE Very GOOD PEOPLE HERE!!!!!! & THEY ALL 4 OF Them DID DESERVE TO LIVE & TO Prosper & FOR Their FAMILIES TO GROW & PROSPER HERE!!!!!!!!& One OF THE WORST DISAPPOINTMENTS IN MY LIFE HAS BEEN LOSING MY CAREER!!!!!!!!!! & NOT HAVING Caterer CHOICES CAN REALLY Badly AFFECT SOMEONE BUT ALL THE BADNESS IN MY LIFE HASN'T AFFECTED ME SO MICH That I EVER FELL FROM GRACE OF From ACTING GRACEFULLY OR FROM Acting HOW GOD WANTS ME TO ACT RIGHT HERE & NO ONE CAN STOP US FROM ACTING IN PUR OWN BEST INTERESTS HERE & I ALWAYS ACT ONLY IN MY BEST INTERESTINGSTS SELFISHLY FOR HETTONG GOD'S BEST LOVE FOR MW TOO I REALKY JEED IT BECAUSE I JEVER GOT IT!!! NOT EVEN ONCE!!!! NOT ONW TOMW HVE I EVER RECEIVED ANY LOVE FROM Outside OF MYSELF HERE!!!!!!! SO BECAUSE OF ONLY BEING HURT IN MY LIFE & AFTER BEING HURT Every Time!!!!!!!!! & FOR NO Good OR APPARENT REASONS OR REASONING????& I WAS ONLY HURT CONSTANTLY?????? NO ONE CAN EVER STOP ME OR Prevent ME Trim Acting RIGHT HERE!!!!& WHO TRIED TO HURT Others HERE??????!!!!!!!& I Don't Hurt OTHERS HERE BECAUSE 2 WRONGS Don't MAKE A RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! & THIS SONG SUDDENLY HAD SO MUCH Meaningfulness TO IT & FINALLY I THOUGHT IT WAS Meaningful TO ME!!!!!!!! & IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!

Elton John’s meaning of the song is about his freedom from toxic love or lack of love in general, and his addictions holding him back in life. Archie Williams’s meaning of the song changed a perspective and made it sync with someone who’d been literally shut in and wrongfully punished for so long and he’s finally free In both cases I’m just so happy these true warriors are liberated

I started listening to Elton John when I was 12 years old. My 16 year old neighbor introduced him to me. I love piano music and he played an album for me. I was hooked. This was a long time before people talked about gays. I didn't know it for a long time. He was once married to a woman so we didn't know. All we knew was his friend Bernie Taupin wrote words down, mailed them to Elton, Elton put music and melody to it and made beautiful songs!

as a child...I was 8 or 9 when Elton came around, I could literally feel the passion and pain of some of his slow songs...That is what truly makes a an artist, our world is not set up to express as much as we would like to, so music has always been a special forum to let loose. I cried a lot with Elton and that's just plain ok :0).. As an adult I love all the quality music out there. God Bless.

This has always been one of my favorite Elton John songs. One thing I think is fascinating is that the backup chorus in this song is made up of Bruce Johnston and Carl Wilson of the the Beach Boys, Billy Hinsche of the Beach Boys backup band and the group Dino, Desi and Billy, and Toni Tennille. According to Wikipedia, Bruce also arranged the vocals, with assistance from "The Captain." Hmmm, I wonder who that was. LOL! All were stars and talented musicians in their own right, and yet all were happy to sing backup behind the force that is Elton John. No egos there. And they all sound great!

This song right here was my Swan Song. Oh my but God did not allow something to go down on my life I wasn't ready to go. To this very day many many years ago he is here teaching me that my life has value. It may not be what other people say it should be. It may not be what I said it should be. But my life has value to God and to those that by his power and by his goodness and his grace. That I would have a time to serve them.
