After using my livescope plus for 5 weeks I also have learned a few things about fish behavior. I noticed that salmon where spooked from the boat around 50’ when trolling. I have used my planer boards 100’ out and have caught the majority of my salmon on surface to 10’ down. Yesterday every hit was on the planer board rod. The same set up off the back of the boat was not hit. I can also see fish close to the surface at less than 20’ deep. That’s new and very helpful.

Have you tried two planner boards?

When trolling and watching salmon spook ahead of you, were you using perspective mode?

I'm guessing forward mode. Perspective mode is too hard to read when moving

I am also on my one year plus learning cycle on LS, went with LS34, made the same mistake on the screen, I now have a 93vs Plus Maps with a 93V UHD that runs the LS34. All networked with the Garmen network hub where both screens share the LS34 signal. All waypoints are shared. I am in a metal shuttle with the summit pole. I will upgrade the pole to Seelite 2.0 on the boat and use the old pole for ice fishing.

Arc labs has a new mount that you can attach you ice fishing set up anywhere in your boat. It latches it in Securely.

I had the same problem. I ended up catching a 106sv on sale to go with the 93sv I initially bought with my Livescope setup. It cost as much as the 93sv and switch. The 106sv has an extra switchport so you don't need a switch.

Sounds like a good setup!!

@@BendItFishing I enjoy it. I put the 93sv in my console and pull it for ice fishing. T he 106sv stays in the house when I'm not on the boat. Anywho, that was all added last last spring. This spring is a Terrova 😀. I had to promise no big purchases next spring. Next spring is probably going to be LEDs on the boat and trailer also reverse lights for the trailer.

If you get another head unit, get the 10" 106sv on clearance for $999. Yes It is $300 more than the clearance 93sv but has two ethernet ports so you don't need the network hub.

I just did this to my new to me used boat. Put a 93SV at the console and a 106SV at the bow.

Do you think for jigging in 130fow the ps30 or lvs62 would be better?

I've never used the PS 30 so I'm not sure

2 106sv's don't need a network box and better resolution than the 93sv. However cannot record video like the GPS map.

Have you had any of the other Garmin head units to compare the GPSMap 943 with? I'm looking at one for both ice fishing and boat, but the display felt somewhat small and I thought I'd miss some of the physical buttons on cold days of ice fishing. Mainly I wanted a brighter screen for full sunny days and faster processor with less lag. What are your thoughts?
@BendItFishing Жыл бұрын
I switched to gpsmap 923xsv from the echomap 93sv and it's way faster and clearer. If you have the money go to the 8000 series

@@BendItFishing I have a 106 Ultra with lvs32. Want it to be better for jigging below 30ft so looking at lvs34, maybe with an upgrade to the 943sxv. This is what you have in your ice bundle?

The lvs 34 I jig down to 110 feet in down mode so it's worth it for sure along with a gpsmap. I was shocked at how clear it was

I am torn between saving money on the lvs34 or the regret of not getting the lvs62. I enjoy vertical jigging more than most and do not want to miss out on lake trout or salmon in deeper water of the great lakes. Having said that my boat will only be 14 v hull so I will not have many days conducive to exploring the lake. I have spent most my time till now just 2d live vertical jigging but would like to scan the 10-40' zones as that is where majority of the species I enjoy catching call home. How well do you see say a 16" bass or a school of crappie or perch 120' away? Do you know or believe you are missing up much on not having the lvs62?
@BendItFishing Жыл бұрын
I have both transducers. The LVS34 is good all the way too 120 feet. It does work best in down mode at that depth. One thing I would upgrade is switch to a GPSMAP model, it's faster and clearer and helps with the LVS34 at long distances
