People don't hate the system because the system is bad. They hate it because it is actually scummy. We've played tons of other games with perks, runes and masteries that's not anything to hate. The hate is coming from the scummy way its set up. I actually like the fact that they added a new dimension to the game. But to have to own certain skins and auras and characters to get access to it lol. Like most games just require general player account XP prestige not the purchasing and owning of every digital asset in the game. But who knows someone prove you can grind and get it all for free lol...

A lot of new players hate it because they don't have every character, let alone a good number of costumes to use the tuning on. However, if you're like me and have been playing since the game first officially launched, its a great system and definitely shakes up the gameplay of some characters.

I just didnt want this extra layer, even if it wasnt so horrendously scummy. Not only can it create crazy extreme builds that are awful to try and fight against, but every consistency and strategy you used to be able to emplore against people kinda just goes out the window because the sheer volume of different types of builds that significantly change up gameplay at high levels. Ive seen someone who fully opened a big box while being invincible the entire time because of one of these, and I cant look at this and think, with good faith, that this is actually going to be more beneficial than damaging. New player experience is now ever harder to get into, and way more complicated. Devs have even more excuses to ignore balance because this tuning can make all characters weird and broken. Them being locked behind specific skins literally sealed the deal for me, they could not have implimented it in a more shameless, scummy, gameplay-experience hurting way

I actually was able to get all slots on my ninja Iida costume ( the default) and BOY I wish I had red Deku, being able to get kota so effectively with my speed is awesome in concept! I got purple toga as my special ability, getting that vampirism UNLESS I manage to get red Dabi’s skill set and unlock his ability thing.

If you were fortunate like me and other early day players and played long enough to just accumulate a lot of stuff, getting into Tuning isn't bad. I feel bad for newer players and this makes Ranked solo even more of a nightmare since you're going to be fighting pre mades anyway; now they're going to be decked out with shit like Kota Finder or things that maximize their char. I sincerely think matchmaking should split pre made players and true solo queue players, that way it's fair for everyone who gets into ranked. I have a maxed Kota on my Uniform Toga and he shows up in 10 seconds from the game start as an icon and he's high lighted when you get a certain distance to see him through walls, so far been eating for free until people catch up.

I think people think too much about it honestly yes there are p2w elements but that's in almost every free game ... ypu getvfree tickets, crystals, etc just rill for free the grind is slower yes but you can grind on unranked for white tickets to use for memories ... find the fit that has the best perks for your playstyle on the character and go from there its a basic mmorpg or jrpg gear set .. kota finder is cool but its not unbalanced , i much prefer getting hp for downs and bakugo's for k.os (i forgot exactly what it is)

Remove tuning for specific skins and just make it character to character and we’re good imo. I don’t wanna lose the freedom to change my skin just cause I’ll be weaker if I switch fits. And let us purchase the character card things with hero souls.

This honestly had the potential to be pure goofy crazy fun for a non-competitive mode or something. Or maybe make this tuning system a WHOLE NEW game mode, and leave the base gamemodes separate from it so people could mess around with the craziness if they wanted to, but the fact its just an obligation to compete in any mode now is such a bad decision imo I honestly dont hate the added complexity, and it seems like itd be fun to really optimize and go crazy with, but the fact that it literally locks off certain buffs and playstyles behind certain COLORS of certain costumes that you'd probably have to pay for is just so painful. I have a hard enough time getting even half the characters/quirksets i want, but now i have to account for skins? Nobody but the whales realistically has the ability to access and optimize all of that within any timely manner. Its just shoved down everyone's throats, and we're all expected to be okay with a system that negatively affects the majority of the playerbase. I feel ashamed that I ever genuinely hoped for the integrity of this game, and I feel bad for Byking, because I feel like it probably wasn't their sole decision making that lead to these additions. Instead of a new gamemode or map, they were forced to work on more underdeveloped p2w stuff, and thats just gotta suck for the hardworking artists and devs

Here's a couple things I tested so you don't have to. You can't give all for one gamma damage you can't give kendo beta damage I thought maybe you could give all for one a little bit of gamma damage on push back and pull or maybe some kendo damage if someone hits her shield I thought those were cool ideas but neither work

My main issue with it is that some skins have really good special tuning slots but are UGLY. I'm on PC and have a custom Kiri skin over the maskless base slot and now I may need to remod to go over a different skin with better buffs but it'll still be uglier for everyone else to see :(

I think you only need the character/skillset if you use the data to supplement what character memos you don't have, if you get memos for playing the game enough I think you can get something like kota finder even if you don't have the skillset

One minor thing to mention that I think was missed, you can’t use the passive/active skill of the character you’re playing, Red Deku can not use kota finder for example. On my opinions of the system, frankly are very negative but I will give one more piece of advice if you’re thinking of builds, every character will eventually become free, skill sets for the foreseeable future aren’t so if you had to choose, I recommend to go for skill sets.

All this does is make people that were gonna avoid rolling for costumes and focus on characters and skillsets feel pressured to get whatever costumes are deemed "meta" for the character if they want to maximize their character's abilities, plus now costumes are no longer about what you think is cool it's oriented around picking what'll optimize your character even if you think it's ugly af, interesting idea for a system but VERY poorly executed, no ifs ands or buts

Essentially if you've been playing for a long time you're probably in a decent spot with tuning and knowing what characters you wanna main and level; you probably have a good chunk of characters unlocked, etc. The big problem is that it's super unfriendly to new players. If you wanna catch up you gotta spend money to catch up with all of us that were already playing all this time. You can def grind only, but it's probs gonna be a season or two before you can do so, and you probs won't have all of the best possible tuning skills bc they're locked behind skill set rolls. How is that supposed to bring in new players?

Now thati understand it better it does sound like a fun system if they tweak it the ma8m thing im my opinion is not forcing you to have the character to use there buff. The costumes thing, in my opinion, isn't a big deal to me it just means i meed to be more creative with my builds. Ironically, though, one of the best skills in finding koda is one one of the 3 characters i don't have Red deku like come . It is annoying as someone who mains a lot of character though because now i kind of have to pick amd choose a few too buff now and who to wait for. I also spent a lot of resources buffing nejire before i understood the system instead of someone i already main but that won't be a problem after i eventually master her like i was planning to anyway

@@aemondtargaryen7837if you want buffs added to your character you need to own the character If you don’t have the character you need to roll for it If you don’t have roll tickets you have to pay for hero crystals and hero crystals cost money otherwise you’d just have to grind for all that stuff so for newer players that don’t have many characters it’ll be harder to obtain those buffs if they aren’t using their money
