I have learned from Lydia to always carefully consider what pieces are needed to complete my outfits. For instance I have a pair of beautiful knee high boots that I wasn't wearing because my pants were all cut just a little too full to tuck into the boots. So I went shopping with a purpose to find a pair of great slim leg jeans! After trying them with the boots I find they are perfect. Now I can't wait for the weather to turn cold enough!

I always wear a t-shirt under my sweaters in winter, it means there is less upkeep on my sweaters. Rather than a long-sleeved version I have a 3/4 length sleeve tee, it's just a bit more versatile. And yes to the scoop neck, mine even works with a v-neck knit.

Well here we go. I have short wellie boots. I live in Scotland and I recently went on an Alaskan Cruise. The short wellies are ok but when faced with a walk in heavy rain the rain enters the top of the boots and soaks inside the boot getting the inside socks and boots very wet indeed. I try my best to be put together on a walk but find it impossible as warmth and dryness needs to be the main priority. I have to get over myself and go with what is practical and not care so much about how I look but more how dry and warm I can be.

I love them. I even wear them to the office when it’s bucketing down and don’t want to ruin my leather shoes. They are shinny black with a little heel, worn with black wide leg trousers, you even look chic 😅

Some honest feedback as a longtime subscriber (and enjoyer of your styling tips!)... I feel the title/intro of this video were a bit misleading. You said these would be tips to maximize your existing wardrobe, but all the points are basically about buying something (unless you have it already, in which case you don't really need the tip lol)... I find your videos are a lot more enjoyable and helpful when they're paired with outfit ideas/actual styling advice. I hope to see more of those because you really know your stuff!

I’m with you regarding the walking boot situation. I like walking in places where I need to be more concerned with what to wear according to the terrain, not style, but I’m not happy with the look at all ! The good thing though, I don’t slip over because of the tread, which is better because slipping in mud or leaves is never convenient is it?! 😆

Having two rotties, I really don't want to be thinking about my feet (that's a general rule for my footwear, but double up for walking the dogs in the middle of winter), I just want my feet to be dry and toasty. I'm not going anywhere where I'm going to meet other people (other than other dog walkers), and a good walking boot isn't always ugly. As for wellies, they are even less chic imho than a walking boot. I've yet to find a pair that I could walk for hours in, they offer zero support on uneven ground and can make my feet sweaty (and uncomfortable), as they're not breathable. Mine are reserved for gardening and nothing else!

I have a calfskin Reissue mini pouch in Classic size Medium/Large and for me it has the size, discreetness and softness to be my everyday bag. My neck and get are the coolest body parts on me. If either are could, I'm could ask over. I have an extensive collection of scarves that i wear on the winter and sometimes in the summer if the air conditioning is going to be blowing on me. I love my scarves.

The wide sleeve tops are a struggle for me. Living in Scotland we need to wear our coats and warm jackets on many months of the year. I really need some advice on the coats that can be comfortable with a jumper Which cannot fit into a regular sleeve coat. I have a wide sleeve raglan style coat but what the heck do I do when it’s black unlined not that warm is not waterproof but is the only coat I have that feels can take a big sleeve. I am at the point were I have too many coats and can’t buy anymore

My main problem, im a mom and my works need me to go outside often to meet clients. In canada in fall its often rainy and muddy. I find it hard to wear looser jeans or wider trousers with any kind of boot. High heels boots are really not practical for my lifestyle. Would the wellies be an option or not so much ? Any other ideas ?

I don’t care that knits are boring, I wear a crewneck cashmere that flatters, black at the moment. Excellent shape chasmere, and I were a brooch. And a cocktail ring from the 1940s for example. I like to show my body shape, long neck and my jewel coloured eyes etc. so my face is another focus not some interest in the garments.

Thanks for the tips. By the way, I just got back from visiting England and I wore my leather white high-top ECCO Soft 7 trainers and they were so comfortable and even stood up in the rain while in Liverpool. Loved England. We are from Arizona where it is still 105 degrees. At least I got to wear my jumpers (sweaters) while visiting. I did use my Uniqlo scoop neck thermal layer and it kept me oh so warm.
