This video was great! Need these guys together more often. Lets have a Polishing Red flag video. Like dos and donts with your products in series, and best recommended routes. Like c4 & p4, slick finish, glaze, jet sealant, then maybe even butter wax last. A video along those lines including products as such. Thanks guys!

I used the "Wet Mirror Finish" applied with My Flex today on My Black Jag XK8. Followed it with The "Butter Wet Wax" Even in this Heat wave and 89% Humidity. Reduced Fine Lines, Very Impressive Results. I have only been Detailing Six Decades, so what do I know. My "Hats Off" Two Superior Products!!!! You Guys Rock! Thanks for the Fast Fed Ex Shipping.

I think a red flag is rushing yourself to finish quicker, it’s about taking your time and enjoy cleaning and taking care of your vehicle because it will benefit you in the long run, if you want your vehicle to last longer, then take your time in taking care of it

Follow up question to #10. How exactly does washing back & forth in a line avoid the contaminants from scratching your vehicle? My thought is if there's something in the mitt then its gonna scratch the paint regardless of what direction you're going. Aren't they just going to be straight scratches instead of circular scratches?
@pingdamerciless Жыл бұрын
Less likely to scratch in straight lines and if it does, lines are easier to polish out than swirls
@PissBoys Жыл бұрын
Swirls reflect light to tons of different angles and thus are much more visible than straight lines, which only reflect light in comparatively few directions.
@XecutiveOfficial Жыл бұрын
Swirls are a myth, they are literally just made up of thousands of straight scratches. The only reason you see them in a swirl formation is because of the way that light refracts off the surface of the vehicle.

When washing towels, should I wash glass towels separate, detailing separate and metals separate? Or can I wash them all together??
@benleone5800 Жыл бұрын
I only made one detailing mistake! Staying in it for a full five decades. You mean I cant use beach towels after the beach? They only have a little sand in them. THANKS for the video! Stay well! I only use White 100% COTTON towels on my cars. FIFTY years. Never Microfibers.

So my bottle of Dawn is a good first step to preppiing panels for repainting if it removes wax and grease and coatings. That's what I have been doing before using a solvent cleaner
@inspector4133 Жыл бұрын
I've always been afraid of clay bars. It just seems intuitive that they'd take the dirt off the car itself, and spread it out and maybe even put fine scratches on the painted surface that you're trying to clean. How does this not happen?
@chill521 Жыл бұрын
Don't be afraid, the clay bar is your friend. The clay lube provides a layer of protection between the clay and the paint so make sure you use it very liberally, and fold and flatten the bar frequently to spread those little particles throughout it so they don't all end up on one side of the bar by the time you do the whole car.

If circular motions when washing leaves swirls in the paint due to possible contaminates if that is the case how does it not make long scratches in the paint from using straight lines or back and forth motion how does the contaminants know the difference

Thank you for all the content, incredible amount of information. In the video you covered the proper care of microfiber towels, the washing and drying etc. My question is, for a DIY'er who don't go through washloads of microfiber, wash mitts, drying towels etc....is there a proper way to hand wash with the microfiber detergent? Thank you in advance.

What is it about TIRES/WHEELS? Don't contaminate rest of car with tire debris and grime while washing. WASH tires first? Also, TRIM, for me, seems to be a bit complicated. Keep it separate from rest of car sealing? Lay down TRIM specific products in which order? TRIM maintenance? Thanks! for the great pro info, guys ....

For brand new towels, should I shake it out before using it? Or should I wash it with the microfiber wash before I use it?
@malachicook54195 ай бұрын
i hate that no one is answering questions however this question is highly dependent upon the towel. washing first you can never go wrong although you wouldn't need MF wash detergent for washing before use. cold water wash low/no heat dry. conditions the towels and removes lint if any.

How much luber is a good amount? I’m a newbie and clay blocked my large SUV, had to be outside in the heat. Ended up using the entire bottle of Luber. Is that too much or is that much needed for a large car? Thanks for all your videos I’ve been learning a lot! Love the bloopers too!
@chill521 Жыл бұрын
A lot. Bigger the vehicle, more the lube needed. The gallon refill bottle is defiantly worth it if you do more than one car.

What’s your thoughts on California dusters or similar? The oil based type dusters that you can use to dust off your cars between washes . Will it scratch your paint ?
@junballs6576 Жыл бұрын
It will. Since it doesn't need to be washed. You'll have old dust & dirt on each time you use that duster. That's a easy way of getting a lot swirls on your ride. To minimize swirls. Just wash weekly & use type of blower to dry off car. You can't avoid your ride from getting swirls. But you can minimize it.

Every single time I rip the tag off it tears up the sewing in the edge and the towel gets ratty looking & begins to come undone - immediately. Pull up, down or sideways, fast or slow....it always shreds your stiching!

Hi ! is it ok to use dish soap if i am planning to compound and wax my car. I want to remove old wax and grease.
@malachicook54195 ай бұрын
yes quick detailer immediatley after as drying aid preferably one w out much sealant either way compounding would remove what would interfere with wax. but in turn would provide the conditioning needed from the harsh dish soap.

@malachicook54195 ай бұрын
no
@malachicook54195 ай бұрын
ultimately everything wont come up and what doesn't come up goes down. Many/most if not all waterless washes have sealents in them each week your over sealing the down contaminants, along with any air particles that may bond with last weeks spray before it may of completely dried or may of been left by towel.

Rule #1: if you drop your cloth in the dirt, put it right back on the paint. In the dirt, right back on the paint.
@PissBoys Жыл бұрын
The dirt helps remove oxidation and gives the paint artisanal character.
