Jackery has a better reputation than Bluetti or Ecoflow. You can buy the previous Jackery 1000 for $850 right now. Quality is more important than battery chemistry. Who is using their ancient unit 10 years from now?

you forgot one detail. charging 3000 times to 80% of the Battery capacity, that means if you have a 2000 watts capacity after 3000 charges you still have 1600 watts usability so it will last you more than 10 years

Lithium Ion Phosphate batteries can't be charged at low temperatures (something like 10-20F), so that's an issue in some states

I'm on the Jackery and EcoFlow websites right now, and the 1000 Pro has a 5-year full warranty, plus a free 2-year warranty extension if you order from an authorized reseller. So they actually have a better warranty than the EcoFlow, which is still 5 years.

I am soooo glad I watched your video first! I was going to grab the Jackery sense I already have a Jackery 880 and have the panels for it. But after watching this I started to reconsider! I was able to get an $80 discount AND I was able to use Affirm payment installment with NO interest at all for 12 months and a LOWER monthly payment on top of that! When I looked to see what it would cost me with Jackery , it was going to cost me an additional $178 if I just so happened to take 12 months to pay it (which I didn’t plan on) but still! So it’s eco flow aaaall the way . Yea it sucks that I’m gonna have to purchase additional panels but overall it’s just a better battery and a better deal! I can take $178 I saved in finance charges and put it toward the solar panels! Thanks for your take on this!

Sounds like the Eco Flow is the better buy today. However I purchased my Jackery 1000 last fall on a special buy under $1000. We spent this summer on the road camping and running our 12 volt refrigerator. Did not miss a beat after six weeks backcountry with charging from the car every 4th or fifth day while moving to our next campsite. We would have to consider the Delta 2 on any future purchase. It is amazing how technology is changing everything we do.

I like how Jackery is more rugged for things like camping. Most EcoFlow products just look and seem delicate like they are for the home or office, not traveling. But the technology is better.

It is lithium iron phosphate battery not lithium ion phosphate as stated at the 6:07 mark. Also lifepo4 batteries (Ecoflow) can be charged to 100% and discharged to 0% lithium ion (Jackery) is recommended to not discharge to less than 20% or battery life will drop. lifepo4 batteries are less subject to catch fire due to heat or over charging. (PhD physics)

I have the older Jackery 1000, bought it about 18 months ago. I noticed the newer Jackery as well as the EcoFlow appear to have their input cable jack on the back with their output jacks on the front. Is that correct? Also, what input cables are used with each. My current Jackery 1000 uses what I think is called an Anderson plug/connector. This is all a bit confusing to me. 2 years ago when I started looking into a solar output device Jackery was all the rage. Now I'm starting to feel like I may have gone in the wrong direction.

The standard plug for solar panels is an MC4 connector. I don't own a Jackery but will be getting one soon. So, I'll know more about what the plug type is soon. EcoFlow uses MC4 connectors so you can easily use other brand panels that have MC4, with the EcoFlow.

Oh, I use a NinjaBatt solar panel. 3-panel, max 128w. MUCH cheaper alternative. I'd like to buy American, but can't afford it. Disability insurance income i(SDI) is too low to be politically/consumer choosy. Bought both 5 years ago, they're both used regularly, and still working. Concerned because of last post.

My 'old' Jackery went from 50% to 0. I'm recharging to 100%, waiting a while, then holding display button for 10(ish) seconds. Charging now. Hope your solution works. Anyway, thank you for at least giving me a direction to try.

Great video. I just recently purchased the Ecoflow Delta pro and Extra battery. Love it! Only thing out of line here is that Ecoflow wants $1000 for only 400W input solar. Agree?

Yes, the 400W panel is outrageous. I have one, its a great panel, durable, I think it will last a long time but I would have two more if they were cheaper or if I were a little richer :-) .

i know it's easy to mis speak when making long videos but, you said lithium ION phosphate and that is NOT correct, it is lithium IRON phosphate, aka Lifepo4. i bring this up because CONFUSION IS RAMPANT the point i've had to correct electrical engineers. Lifpoe4 is ALIEN compared to Lithium ION, two completely different animals!!! another reason that's such a big deal is because lithium iron aka lifpoe4 can be retrofitted where lead acid was once used which can NOT be said for lithium ion (kaboom!) also lifepo4 is pretty stable and much longer last than lead acid or lithium ion. ALSO there is a chance you may get more than 3000 cycles out that unit.

Lithium Iron is merely one subcategory within the much larger encompassing class of lithium Ion batteries. Lithium Iron batteries contain lithium Ions, hence they are part of the larger class. There are many other subcategories of Lithium Ion like lithium cobalt and many others, etc. Each chemistry variation has different voltages, energy densities and other characteristics. Confusing, but the devil is in the details. The life is measured for full cycles to 90% of original capacity, so you can use a lithium battery much longer if you can tolerate the reduction in capacity. Less than full cycles can extend the life as well. Other factors like calendar life, temperature, and so on also have effects on life.

Which is why I like to say the specific chemistry. To split hairs this the first and only time I've heard lithium ion phosphate vs lithium iron phosphate but it sounds like tomatoe, tomato, al-u-minium, alumi-num.

Between ecoflow and jackery i will always choose ecoflow for the simple fact that you do not have to buy their solar panels to charge by solar. You can save 500 or more dollars and buy a 400 to 500 watt glass panel and use it with the ecoflow. You can try to do the same with jackery but you will need their special connector and have to hope it works.

I charge my Jackery 1000 with a 200 watt solar panel that is mounted on top my van. It is not a Jackery panel. I think the newer Jackery products only offer one input plug where my older one has 2 options, a barrel plug & an Anderson plug(?). I use the Anderson as that cable was easy to find. I like what this gentleman & you say about EcoFlow and might consider it in the future.

The new one has two solar inputs but both are their special sized and each does 400 watts of charging on solar max to make 800 total. Same input plug for the car charging plug they provide. have to buy their series connector for 50 to 70 bucks to hook up 2 or more solar panels at the same time. according to hobotech they do provide the special adapter for using a certain type of plug to the special size.

@@jw3843 thanks for responding. I'm not sure it's an Anderson. That is what someone told me it was called. It's rectangular flat with a black side & a red side. The port to it on the Jackery 1000 is beside the barrel port. I've had no issues with my Jackery but will look closer at other options in the future. I watched several reviews including HoboTech & they all raved about Jackery being the best.

@@jacquelinejensen5360no problem. it sounds like an Anderson connector. Probably less than 45 Amp Anderson. I think that style goes from 10 to 45 Amp. I have an oukitel which has an Anderson solar input. It takes up to 500 watts. Jackery is more efficient then my unit but mine was cheaper. I got it on Kickstart for 1000 for 2000 wh unit which puts out around 1500 wh total.

I bought the Jackery 1000 Explorer with the 2 panels on a sale they were holding about 2 years ago. I am ok with the unit but the Ecoflow Max 2 is outstanding and recently bought the Delta 2, just in time for the outages we recently had. Yes, the Ecoflow can be loud, so is the Jackery when it is powering a full size refrigerator, The technology has gone a long way, thank you for presenting and taking the time to deliver these videos

Apparently ecoflow delta2 is better, but it's their first version of lifepo4 type battery.. Bluetti, also good choice for this type battery. Well, need more time to see which is better. Lifepo4 is powerful but has issue with noise. Be careful before decide.

EcoFlow has many products with the lifepo4 battery. The previous version, the Delta didn't have it. A couple of their early battery systems that are much smaller didn't have it either. But they have used it in all of the larger systems.

Most lithium chemistries do between 300-500 cycles. OEM Phone batteries are proprietary chemistry and can do 900 + cycles. Both are hard to find because they are pricey. Those third party china made lithium batteries(which are easily available) can handle less than 300 cycles and tend to puff up.

It sounds like in the long run the Eco flow dollar for dollar is worth the money and the investment I've heard so many not good things about jackery and how they don't have a good dependable track record, if I'm going to spend $1,000 or more then I got to have something that's going to be dependable durable and last a long time whether I use it once a day or twice a week, this unit sounds like a win-win compared to that jackery but this will go on my list as I continue to do my homework on other units thanks for the great review this was helpful

Your welcome. Another good brand is Bluetti, but I don't think they have one that is 1000w. I saw one that was 800w and 2000w. The EcoFlow goes on sale tomorrow and I just received a small discount code for it. "QWSTFRQQ"

Not to change the subject DGS, but my wife and I just agreed on something. (We agree often, btw.) The S has already HTF. It's here. Now. I just had a shock of appreciable voltage at Walmart akin to the first and only other one I ever had there. The first time.... I didn't do grocery shopping for a couple of decades due to job differences. Then when that changed I did. On my first visit to Walmart with the wife for serious shopping I was shocked viciously at the price difference from the last time I had done serious grocery shopping. We're talking 15-20 years. TODAY I was shocked at the price difference for replacement items for stuff we bought less than a month to two weeks ago. Same level of disbelief. It's here. The stuff we squirreled away all summer has risen in value, often by double. So happens we prepped for the go down...not the slow down so much...and not the price increases. I knew all about that stuff but it wasn't my focus. Well...we got stuff...much of it at 25-50% off today's price. Turns out in the short run anyway it's not all about supply. It's about the damned fraudulent biteme inflation coefficient. In the long run, next week, next month...THEN it may be about shortage or even noneage. Looks like starting now we're gonna have to cut standard items off our grocery list due to the uppage. (My wife ain't gonna pay 'em!) Yes, at the checkout we've moved on from Jacksons to Franklins. Snap! Just like that in good old 2022. We'll speak of gas next. And beans and rice recipes.

I know its getting worse each day and there is no change of course coming. Buying food and supplies now, will save even more later. Its really turned into an investment. Buy groceries and watch the value increase over time. Better than stocks :-) . Just wait until the real shortages hit, once it does, it will go fast because panic will set in and everyone will be awakened. Just like the toiletpapergeddon. Keep getting it now as you can.

Thanks for reviewing these, I'm doing some research to buy one myself so I can do work while away from home. One thing worth noting is that the output of the Jackery is pure sine. Most devices these days have filtering where it can deal with the output of a modified sine wave just fine but some will run hotter or refuse to work. A bit of extra research I'd recommend buyers make before committing to one or the other
