El Salvador is a great country to buy a nice looking house cheap and low taxes for foreign investors trying to open businesses there. It has low suicide rates and low anti depressant users. I wouldn't be surprised if the current salvadoran president makes english the official language while maintaining spanish as the mother tongue in El Salvador. I really want all salvadorans to speak english as a mandatory requirement in all salvadoran schools especially the young population.

That dollar coin is from the U.S and it has been in circulation for a while, the woman is a Sioux native. The coin is legal, made in the US and you are ok to use it, but I'm not sure if everyone accept it. Bitcoins and dollars are used in El Salvador which is good, there is always a back up. Ah ok, I understand hahaha, sorry. It may be different depending on your passport, but for North Americans and Europeans it’s very straight forward (and maybe everywhere else, I’m just not sure of entry agreements for other passports). No real planning ahead or visa needed, it’s all on arrival. Arrive at border, see immigration to get yourself stamped in. Then to Aduana to get the bike stamped in. Then your good to go. Some countries require you to buy insurance. To exit, stamp yourself out, then bike. Repeat entry at next border. It’s sometimes a little confusing due to slightly different requirements and lack of signage, but completely doable. The one note I’d say is make sure the bike is in your name, if not do some research to make sure it’s ok. I’m trying to do the best walk-through explaining that I can in my videos, without running the camera during the actual document process, most of them don’t like that

In El Salvador, they don't care about racial ideologies, has low suicide rates, low anti deppressant users, economy is growing, it has the lowest homicide rates in the western hemisphere and the capital San Salvador is americanized in a good way. Salvadorans are pro american and canadian allies and friends believe it or not. On 2 different occasions El Salvador wanted to be part of USA as a state. You should go see El Salvadors flag from 1865 till 1912 on google images you'll be really surprised. Fun fact- El Salvador NEVER wanted to be part of Mexico but instead part of USA, pretty crazy.

It’s an incredible country! With the recent changes I suspect it will become a very popular expat destination. It’s incredible that it went from one of the highest homicide rates in the world, to one of the lowest in Latin America (Im just about certain that it isn’t a lower rate than Canada, and there may be a few others in SA lower, chile and Paraguay for example. But an amazing transformation nonetheless). It really felt safe, and listening to before and after stories from people was incredible. I took a look at the flag, neat! I hope to return soon

There are one-dollar coins in the US but they are rare. I believe when people see them, they become coins to collect and no longer circulate. In El Salvador in the past the one-dollar bill circulated so much that the bills lifespan was short. They would literally disintegrate in your hands. Many people were not happy to return to carrying around a heavy sack of coins like we did with El Colon in the past. Mostly the people who sold good on the streets. But it cost money to make money, so El Salvador had to reduce its cost and return to the coin again in 2011 because it has a life of about 30 years.

That is a profound observation, and a good way of looking at things. All countries have their problems, but I’ve been struck by how in Latin America while the “material quality of life” is generally lower than in North America, there is a lot less visibly homeless. It seems like most people have a some kind of roof over their head at night, and the family takes care of each other. I’m from Canada, but we have a lot of the same problems as the United States, although maybe not quite as severe. I loved El Salvador! It was a big surprise for me 🙏🏼 😊

The dollar coins were introduced in the United States in the hope they would be widely adopted; firstly it seemed they would be a hit with so many vending machines that were ubiquitous selling items that were certainly over a dollar. They never did catch on, and were seen less and less in circulation. Every once in a while you see them. I guess they are winding up in countries where the USD is being used like El Salvador and Ecuador, and many other countries where the USD is highly sought.

Such an interesting story and situation. I’ve since found out they are used in other Latin America countries, but I didn’t know they were used in Africa and elsewhere in the world! 🙏🏼

Pupusas 🎉🎉🎉 It is legal currency in America. America’s first foreign currency was for the Dominican republic, a Trujillo 1 peso coin. That coin is a Sacagawea coin.

Yes, they do accept $1.00 coin here. I have used it before, and the cashier accepted.

So interesting. They seem more prevalent in some areas vs others. I wonder if there are places where people wouldn’t know about them and therefore not accept 🤔

One-dollar coins are very rare in the USA, but they are available in change machines at car washes. Accept them, they are not fooling you. 😅

Hahaha, I didn’t have much choice just went with the flow. I was wondering if they were actual US money or “El Salvador” dollar as is never seen one. I’ve since been informed that they are present all of the US, if not common. Cheers!

The dollar coin is definitely legal tender in the United States and most of America, including Canada. Is called the Sacagawea dollar. Do not go around in Central America calling the US, America. LOL
@kenshapperttravelstheworld8845 Жыл бұрын
Haha I knowww. I’ve had so many people comment on that. It’s innocent, in Canada we do probably usually say “the states” or “the US”. I guess I got used to all my Irish friends calling the US “America” and it stuck. So many people don’t like that, but I’m Canadian and also from the “americas”, so don’t think I’m being self-centred or ignorant calling it America. It’s just short form! Haha. But the dollar coin definitely isn’t legal tender in Canada, nor any other US currency. A lot of merchants MAY accept it, at a discounted rate, but I suspect most large corporate businesses that aren’t within ~50km of the border would not accept. But it was so interesting to see it, and find out the story behind it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

💵 VS 🪙 They did a study were it showed that the US paper dollar last 6 year in the US until it tears down, while in El Salvador is only lasts 6 months until it starts to wear and tear down, due to high street market commerce and whether. The Sacajawea coins began circulating the US in 2000, but soon became unpopular, so the US sent them to El Salvador where they are very popular due to durability. This is why the Sacajawea coin is preferred in El Salvador, because it lasts longer than US paper dollar. Since the Sacajaweas are unpopular in the states, the US sent all its Sacajaweas to El Salvador. 😊👍
@kenshapperttravelstheworld8845 Жыл бұрын
That is fascinating to me, thanks for letting me know. I love coins (they also make an easily transportable souvenir from each country, with limited space) and knowing the story/reasoning is great. Now I just wonder why they are not popular in the US?
@billh3469 Жыл бұрын
@@kenshapperttravelstheworld8845 I think it's because of their size that they're not as popular in the US. They are only slightly larger than the Quarter and can easily be mistaken for one.
